He is the son of Placide and Arsene (Guidry) Duhon; both natives of Louisiana. To them were born four children; Vior, the only son and three daughters. Our subject was reared by his uncle, S. Guidry. He began life for himself at the age of twenty-one as a hired hand on a farm. When twenty-four years of age he was married to Elvira Foreman. Their union has been blessed with ten children, three sons and seven daughters. Mr. Duhon owns five hundred and fifty acres of land, twenty-five of which are cultivated, chiefly in cotton and corn. Mr. Duhon is one of Lafayette's most highly respected citizens and successful farmers. He is a generous contributor to schools, churches and all enterprises for the public good.
