Died, at Lafayette, Sunday, May 23, 1897, at 8 o'clock p. m., Amelie A. Debaillon. Funeral took place at the Catholic church Monday, May 24th, at 5 o'clock p. m. Lafayette, La., May 24. - Miss Amelie Debaillon, aged fifty-five years, died last night at 8 o'clock at the residence of her brother, Judge C. Debaillon, after a long illness. The deceased was a lady of education and possessed many good qualities which had endeared her to a large circle of friends. Her funeral took place this afternoon at 5 o'clock at the Catholic church, where a vast concourse of people attended the burial ceremonies. Rev. W. J. Kennedy, S. J., of Grand Coteau, preached an eulogy on the deceased, paying her memory an eloquent tribute. - Times-Democrat. The many friends here of Judge Debaillon sypathize deeply with him in this affliction.
