All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From the Lafayette Advertiser Saturday, Sept. 26, 1891 col 3 The St. Martin Messenger of the 19th inst., contains the following account of a sad accident in that parish: Monday morning while attending to his work on the St. John plantation, William Greig, was kicked in the lower part of the stomach. He was severely hurt and a physician was sent for, but his wound was not thought serious. He suffered, however, until 12:30 Wednesday morning when he expired. His death was almost a surprise to his parents who did not think his wound was of so serious a nature.
