He resided most of his adult life in the bayous of south Louisiana. Bob spent many years working on the genealogy of many Cajun families. He was one of the south's foremost genealogist, a family historian and a community activist. He was also the editor of the quarterly journal, Les Memoires de Bayou Lafourche, through which he made every effort to see that Lafourche's genealogical history would be saved for future generations. He continued working on the La Societe website cemetery tables until his death. Bob, with his drive to find and preserve all of the genealogical information of our past, was known for his dedication for gathering as much information about the people of our area as he could. Bob was always willing to assist others in their genealogy research. He was a true genealogist and author. His work was not a loss cause. The wealth of information that he has accumulated through the years has been donated to the library in Galliano and can now be appreciated by all of those researching their roots in South Lafourche.
