We did not happen to know the gentleman but he evidently has friends and acquaintances here since citizens were invited to his funeral. ================================ The Lafourche Comet, July 17, 1930, page 4, col. 1 Submitted by: Nancy Wright Furcy Guillot DEATH OF MR GUILLOT The daily papers brought the news Monday of the death of Mr. Furcy Guillot, he having passed away in New Orleans on Saturday, aged 71 years, his funeral being held Sunday. The deceased was a native of Lafourche parish, where, for many years, he was recognized as one of the best plantation managers in the parish, but with the decline of the sugar industry he decided to withdraw from it and pursue some other line. Thus a few years ago he went to New Orleans and opened a grocery, which he operated until his death. Mr. Guillot is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Gaston Aucoin, of New Orleans, a son, Mr. Walter Guillot, manager of the Uncle Sam plantation, of Convent, La., and a sister, who is Mrs. F. J. Guillot, of 610 Green Street, Thibodaux. ============================================================================
