Submitted by: Chris Tidwell Warehouse worker shot to death [Arthur J. Pennison Jr.] Lafourche Parish Sheriff's deputies are investigating the early morning shooting death of a worker at the Evangeline Maid Bread Warehouse at 1398 West Thibodaux Bypass Road. A bread delivery salesman arriving at the warehouse this morning found Arthur J. Pennison Jr., 44 of 1501 B Talbot Ave., lying on the floor of the office shot once in the head and twice in the left back, the sheriff's office reported. He was shot with a .38- caliber weapon. Lafourche deputies were called to the scene at about 2:45 a.m. Deputies were told that Pennison left home between 10:30 and 11 p.m. as usual to load the bread truck for the incoming bread salesman. Pennison had apparently been at work for about 30 to 45 minutes when the shooting occurred, a spokesman for the sheriff's office said. One truck was almost completely loaded, he said. The shooting is still under investigation and no motive has yet been determined. Robbery has been virtually ruled out as a motive, because there was little of value in the warehouse except bread and cakes. The warehouse is located in an isolated area and there are only a few other businesses nearby. There are no homes in the area and no one reported hearing or seeing anything suspicious, the sheriff's spokesman said. ============================ March 19, 1984 Daily Comet, Lafourche Parish, La.
