Religious services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Savior Catholic 
Church in Lockport for Sadie Rivet Davaine, 76, a native of Gheens and resident 
of Lockport, who died Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in Houma.

She is survived by three sons, Joe, Elton and Clifton Davaine; two daughters, 
Cecile Lirette and Adele Fitch; two brothers, Emile and Ben Rivet; sisters, 
Ezoline Vedros and Bernice Danos; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Davaine; parents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Herbert Rivet; one son, Charlie Davaine Jr.; one brother, Zazely Rivet, and 
sisters, Azay Dufrene and Elicia Breaux.

Visitation will be today from 3-11 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 
funeral time at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport.  Interment will be in the 
church mausoleum.

Religious services were scheduled this morning at St. James Catholic Church for 
Louis "Te-garcon" Heary, 77, a native and resident of St. James who died 
Thursday at 6:40 p.m.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

He was the husband of Alice Spencer Heary; father of Amelia Henderson, Lydia 
Stewart, Yvonne Green, Louis Heary Jr., Patricia Schexnayder, Barbara Poche and 
Betty Stewart; and brother of Aline Robinson, Leona Lasalle and Thelma Lee.

He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred Heary and Frieanne George; and 
one daughter, Albernia Mayho.

for Daniel M. LeJeune Jr., 76, a native of Brusly and resident of Plaquemine, 
who died Thursday.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olida Collins LeJeune of Plaquemine; a 
daughter, Mrs. Barbara Rafflee of Plaquemine, three stepdaughters, Mrs. Victor 
(Betty) Cannella and Mrs. Duane (Kathy) Smith, both of Plaquemine, and Mrs. 
Lloyd (Janette) Watford Jr. of Wesson Miss.; three sons, Daniel M. LeJeune III 
of Gonzales, Stanley A. LeJeune of Plaquemine and Larry M. LeJeune Sr. of Grosse 
Tete; a stepson, Billy Bolyer of Addis; four sisters, Mrs. Iola Mabile of 
Donaldsonville, Mrs. Ada Cravens of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Walter (Lucille) Touchet 
of Port Allen and Mrs. Adam (Esther) Mabile of Napoleonville; a brother, Harvey 
LeJeune of Sausalito, Calif.; 31 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel M. LeJeune Sr.; a

She is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Jr.; and one brother, Addis Mahler.

She was the mother of one son, Elmo Talbot Sr.; and three daughters, Mrs. 
Gustave (Gertie) Arcement, Mrs. Anthony (Noon) LeBlanc and Mrs. Paul (Myrtle) 
Landry; and the sister of Rene Boudreaux and Agnes Noble.  She is also survived 
by 23 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie "Bib" Talbot; and three sons, 
Camille, A.J. and Rivers Talbot.

Former Lieutenant governor dies
C.C. "Taddy" Aycock

FRANKLIN - Former Louisiana Lt. Gov. C.C. "Taddy" Aycock, one of the more 
popular men to serve in the No. 2 post this century, died early today at 
Franklin Foundation hospital after a lengthy illness, his son Larry said.  He 
was 71.

Aycock held the then important post for more than a decade, leaving it after an 
unsuccessful fun for governor in 1971.

Prior to his election as lieutenant governor in 1960, Aycock served stints in 
both the state Senate and the House, and served as House speaker for four years.

Aycock had little trouble keeping the No. 2 post in state government and 
political observers said he could have held onto it if he had not decided to 
join 16 others trying for governor.

He ran sixth in the 1971 race and turned over his office in early 1972 to Jimmy 
Fitzmorris, another popular lieutenant governor.

Aycock and Fitzmorris, aware of their popularity with the voters, found that 
they couldn't broker their high profiles to get to the No. 1 spot.

Fitzmorris tried it in  1979 and ran third.

During Aycock's tenure, the lieutenant governor had a stronger role in 
government because he served as president of the Senate and generally had strong 
control over the upper chamber.

The 1973 constitutional convention changed that, taking the president's job from 
the post.

Aycock retired from public service after the 1971 election and, according to his 
son, was serving in an advisory capacity with Louisiana Land & Exploration Co. 
at the time of his death.

The fiery Aycock, brought up in the old tradition of stump speeches on 
courthouse steps, kept up with the times and used a television blitz in the 1971 
race.

His strategy combined a George Wallace-like diatribe against the federal 
government with Nixon and Reagan-like praise for the silent majority.

The only one in the race to label himself a conservative, Aycock was overcome by 
the back-to-Earl Long populism that was sweeping the state.

That brand of populism, given birth by Huey Long and continued by his brother, 
had been somewhat smothered in the administrations of Jimmie Davis and John 
McKeithen.

Although a student of the Longs, McKeithen was more of a moderate, according to 
political observers of time.

Edwin Edwards felt the new move and was able to combine black and labor support 
to win the 1971 race and begin his reign.

Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until funeral time.  Burial will be in

Dirk Ory of Thibodaux, Mrs. Michael Aycock Valls of New Iberia and Mrs. Gregory 
Fleniken of Lafayette; sons, Joseph W. and Larry Thomas Aycock, both of 
Lafayette, and Dr. Kenneth J. Aycock of Franklin; his stepmother, Amy Aycock; 
two sisters, Mrs. Joanne Morrison of Houma and Mary Ida Dupuis of Opelousas; and 
13 grandchildren.

Leona Jacque Sorrell; sisters, Rosele Sorrell and Leona Coleman; and brothers, 
Arthur Albert, Harry and Manford Sorrell.

Father Gubler served as assistant pastor or administrator at church parishes in 
New Orleans, Pierre Part, Montegut and Barataria and was Pastor of Our Lady of 
the Holy Rosary Parish in Larose, St. John the Evangelist in Thibodaux and St. 
Lawrence in Chacahoula.  He was chaplain at Metairie Manor, a home for the 
elderly, at the time of his death.

He is survived by three brothers, Msgr. Edwin J. Gubler of Donaldsonville and 
Lawrence J. and Milton J. Gubler, both of Metairie.

Burial was in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
