Funeral services are set for Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Thibodaux. Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 10 at the church and Saturday from 9 a.m. to funeral time. A native of New Orleans, Bordelon had lived in Thibodaux since 1966. He was a graduate of Loyola Dental School and of the orthodontics graduate program at Indiana University. In addition to his private practice, Bordelon taught at the LSU Dental School. His professional affiliations included fellowship in the American College of Orthodontics. His civic activities included the E.D. White Cardinal Club, the Band Boosters Club and the Lions Club. He was a past president of the Country Club Civic Association and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Bordelon is survived by his wife Barbara Flink Bordelon, formerly of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; a son Robert James Bordelon; three daughters, Mary Susan, Michelle Andrea and Rebecca Ann Bordelon, his mother Mary Lou Bordelon and a sister Joy Ann Strong of Birmingham, Ala. Hebert Lafourche National Bank President L.J. Hebert of Thibodaux died Saturday after a lengthy illness. He was 65. He worked with Lafourche National Bank since 1937 in all phases of banking. He recently retired from regular duties at the bank, but still retained the title of president. This past December he was named recipient of the Frank Kennedy Award by the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce for his significant contribution to the business community. Hebert was the charter president of that organization in 1966-68, and was the only resident to serve twice. He was instrumental in the founding of the Chamber. "If there was such an institution called the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, L.J. Hebert would be one its first inductees," said past Chamber President Russell Ayo after presenting Hebert with the Kennedy award. He served as director of the New Orleans branch of the Federal Reserve Bank from 1968-70, was chairman of the Public Affairs Research Council for the stat of Louisiana from 1981-82, served as president of the Louisiana Bankers Association, was state president of the Louisiana Bankers Association, was chairman of the Community Bankers Division of the American Bankers Association for five years and was on the Governor's Committee of 100. Hebert was a World War II veteran. He entered the armed services in 1942, earned his pilot's wings in April 1943, went overseas in August of that year, served 14 months in the European Theater and returned with the rank of captain.
