Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Carmel Catholic 
Church in Zachary for Ulyses Joseph Aucoin, 69, a native of Paincourtville and 
resident of Jackson, who died Monday.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Charlet Funeral Home in Zachary and 
from 10 a.m. to. 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church hall. Dismissal and 
interment are at Mt. Carmel Mausoleum.

He was the father of Mrs. Preston (Mary Alice) Chustz of Oscar, Mrs. Gordon 
(Jean) Chauvin of Livonia, Mrs. Bruce (Gloria) Collier of Jackson, Mrs. Lynn 
(Julia) Spentz of Harvey, Mrs. Alvin (Joyce) Dousay Jr. of St. Francisville and 
Ida Aucoin of Morganza, Atlas Aucoin of Athens, Ga., and Kelly Aucoin of 
Redfield, S.D. He is also survived by four brothers; three sisters; and 12 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Landry Aucoin.

Donations to Greater Baton Rouge Cancer Society are preferred.

Funeral services were held today at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church 
in Hahnville for O'Neil L. Knobloch, 75, a native of Boutte and resident of 
Hahnville, who died Monday at 1:40 a.m.

Interment is in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.

He was the husband of Anna Belle Brady Knobloch; father of Elaine K. Smith and 
Anna Marie K. Baudoin; and brother of Rita Bourgeois. He is also survived by 
three grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Cecile Champagne Knobloch; 
sister, Mary Zeringue; and brothers, Roy, Guy, Nolan and Ernest Knobloch.

Masses preferred.

in Thibodaux for Sidney J. Leonard, 85, a native and resident of Thibodaux, who 
died Monday at 5:35 a.m.

He was the husband of Marie Toups Leonard; father of Donald and Lawrence 
Leonard, Merlin Simek, Marion Meredith, Mazie Quick and Mary Leonard; and 
brother of J.C. Leonard and Mildred Schreiber.  He is also survived by 10 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce and Alice Himel Leonard; and 
brothers, Harris and Norman Leonard.

He was the husband of Beverly Acosta Matherne; father of Johnny Jr., David,

Houma, Mrs. Albert (Donna) Daigle of Bayou Blue, Mrs. Danny (Lisa) Luke of 
Dulac, Mrs. Robert (Tammy) Wood of N.C., Angela and Charlene Matherne, both of 
Houma; and brother of Houston "T.V." Matherne of Bayou Blue and Elson "Nab" 
Matherne of Bourg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. He was preceded 
in death by his parents, Ernest and Lelia Blanchard Matherne; brothers, 
Wallace, Gustae, Horrace and B.B. Matherne; and sisters, Rita Matherne Folse 
and Lydia Matherne.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette Benoit; parents, Henry and 
Ocenia Hebert Pitre; and brothers, O'Niel and Moise Pitre.

Raceland for the Rev. James Smith, a native of Lafourche Parish and a. resident 
of Raceland who died Monday at 7:15 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m., Thursday at the church. Visitation 
is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

He was the husband of Octavia Smith; father of Calvin, Herman, Sidney and 
Melvin Smith, Vivian Hill, Doretha Farlow, Willie Triggs and Bessie Boyd. He is 
also survived, by 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and three great-
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Edward Smith.

Inez LeBoeuf Authement, 71, a native of Pointe-Aux-Chene and resident of 
Chauvin, who died Tuesday at 7:22 p.m.  [2 Jan 1990]

Interment is in the church cemetery.

She was the wife of Axon J. Authement; mother of Mrs. Eno (Lucy) Boudreaux of 
Chauvin and Mrs. Donald (Marianne) Peltier of Thibodaux; and sister of Ester 
LeCompte of Pointe-Aux-Chene, Thelma Dupre and Lena Chauvin, both of Montegut 
and Edward and Loches LeBoeuf, both of Pointe-Aux-Chene. She is also survived 
by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clairfey and Clothilde Naquin 
LeBoeuf; and brothers, Luby, Leon, Camile, Calvin and Erald LeBoeuf.

Mr. and Mrs. Axon Authement celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 25.

Mrs. Authement was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters 
of St. Joseph Church in Chauvin.

Rouge; and sister of Floyd and Gracien Orgeron, Mrs. Nickerson (Eula) Toups, 
Mrs. Manuel (Shirley) Fonseca and Mrs. Lipton (Lulu) Vizier.  She is also 
survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack J. Estay; son, Maxie Estay; and 
parents, Edgard and Cora Triche Orgeron.

Harvey for Oscar Allen Tastet, 53, a native of Raceland and resident of Harvey

Cemetery with military honors.

He was the husband of Rita Mae Cambre Tastet; father of Keith Joseph, Carey and

Anatole, Henry, Elenore, Annamae, Hubert, Rita, Nita and Ronnie.  He is also 
survived by four grandchildren.

She was the mother of Richard Byers of Dayton, Ohio, Roger Byers of Elizabeth, 
Ark., Robert Byers of San Antonio, Texas, Franchesca Dubose of Silverthorne, 
Colo., and Roberta Lavigne of Baton Rouge; and sister of Linda Miller of Wood 
River, Ill., Larry Bruce of Mounds, Ill., and Leslie Bruce of Freeport, Ill. 
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Mrs. Byers was a veteran of the World War II Army Nurse Corps and a retired 
nurse of Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark.

McGee; and brother of Aurelia G. Pitre.  He is also survived by six 
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Euphemia Smith Galliano; 
brothers, Gibson and Jefferson Galliano; and sister, Bella Galliano Boudreaux.

Mr. Galliano was retired from Texaco and was a member of American Legion Post 
349 and VFW Post 3665 of Raceland.

She was the sister of Juliette Bourg Pontif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodule and Elisa Trosclair Bourg; 
brothers, Valery, John, Luke, Delma and Sylvester Bourg; and sisters, Jeannette 
B. D'Arensbourg and Josephine Bourg.

stepfather, George Kiger; brothers, Edison and Wilson Billiot; and one 
grandchild.

Cortez, Ella Mae Wilkinson, Ruth Molaison and Lottie Rome. He is also survived 
by 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aneica and Vurgist Dufrene Falgout.

also survived by 11 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Catholic Church in Grand Isle for Hector P. Chighizola, 91, a native and 
resident of Grand Isle, who died Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at the church. Interment 
is in Grand Isle Cemetery.

He is survived by three nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Erminie Chighizola Blazio.

Church in Mathews for Louis J. "Sonny" Rivet Jr., 57, a native of Mathews and 
resident of Raceland, who died Tuesday at 12:44 a.m.

Thursday at the church. Interment is in St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.

He was the husband of Sondra Adams Rivet; father Of Glenn David Rivet, Beryl 
Rivet Pitre and Monica Rivet Fuselier; son of Louis D. Rivet; and brother of 
Nell France. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory John Rivet; mother, Lena 
Calliouet; and sister, Barbara Foret.

Norman Joseph Savoie, 70, a native of Larose and resident of Cut Off, who died 
Tuesday.

Interment is in the church cemetery.

He was the husband of Rena Guidry Savoie; father of Ann Parr; foster father of 
Mike Rio, Tessa Thompson and Mitzi Dardar; son of Annie Breaux Savoie; and 
brother of Edna Ledet, Alma Pertuit, Velma Adams and Nolan, Albert, Sidney and 
Edmond Savoie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edmond Savoie; brother, Shelton Savoie; 
and sister, Edwina Pierce.
