time Saturday at Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux. Interment is in the church 
cemetery.

She was the sister of Herman Orgeron; and step-sister of A.J. and Chester 
Orgeron, Dorris LeBoeuf and Rita Guillot.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Estes E. Cook; parents, Albert and 
Maria Orgeron; sister, Enola Bay; and brothers, Orville and Lawrence Orgeron.

Vacherie for Althea Marie Borne, 90, a native and resident of Vacherie, who 
died Friday at 9 a.m.

Interment is in the church mausoleum.

She was the sister of Loretta B. Bourgeois and Fred Borne of Vacherie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Loretta Leroux Borne; 
sister, Laura Scioneaux; and brothers, Caliste, Esteval, Henry, Anicet and

in Thibodaux for Julia Griffin Adams, 69, a native of Thibodaux and resident of 
Labadieville, who died Saturday at, 9:30 a.m.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until funeral time today at the church. Dismissal is 
scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday with interment in the church cemetery.

She was the mother of Lloyd Adams, Doris Patterson, Eula Joyce Coleman, Barbara 
Mollere, Grace Ros, Linda Adams and Gail James; and sister of Sam, Clarence and 
Leroy Batiste, Selietha Tyler and Annie Mae Dorsey. She is also survived by 25 
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Adams; parents, Walter and 
Elnora Griffin; and granddaughters, Joyce and Laurel Adams.

Catholic Church in Marrero for Louis V. "Vince" Holmes, a native of Vacherie 
and resident of Marrero, who died Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

Interment is in Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale.

He was the husband of Catherine J. Holmes; father of Elliot, Louis Jr., David, 
Marvin and Christopher Holmes; and brother of Mable Scott of New Orleans, 
Hebert Holmes of Los Angeles, Calif., and Joseph "Sam" Holmes of Marrero. He is 
also survived by 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Oubre Holmes; 
brothers, Edward Hubert and Albert Holmes; and sisters, Alberta Weber, Almedia 
Champagne, Edna Lemieux and Theresa Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie Olano and Louis William

who died Sunday.

She was the daughter of Richard A: Duncan; and stepdaughter of Ferrel W. Duncan

She was preceded in death by her, mother, Arleen Pritchard Duncan.

sister, Georgia Legend.

Funeral services for the Rev. Louis Streams Jr., chairman of the Thibodaux 
Housing Authority Board, are scheduled at 8 p.m. Monday at Calvary United 
Methodist Church in Thibodaux

Streams, 74, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died Wednesday.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. Monday at the church. Dismissal services are 
scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with interment in Calvary Cemetery.

Streams, was an active member in the Thibodaux community, having served as an 
educator and minister. He left the community for a few years after he finished 
the seventh grade because during, that time there was no high school available 
to blacks in the city.

Leaving behind his parents, brothers and sisters, Streams traveled to New 
Orleans where he attended and graduated from McDonogh No. 35 High School in 
1937, and received a bachelor's degree from Xavier University in 1941. He also 
received a master's degree from the University of Southern California, attended 
Louisiana State University and Nicholls State University.

He, began teaching at the newly opened Corporation School located on Narrow 
Street, the only high school for blacks in 1941. He stayed at the Corporation 
School, which later became C.M. Washington High School, for seven years but his 
stay was interrupted by a three-year stint in the United State Army.

Before he was discharged in 1946, Streams served in the European Theater, in 
the war against the Germans, the Pacific Theater against the Japanese and 
finally the army occupation in Korea.

Streams left the Corporation School to become a principal at Greenwood Middle 
School in Terrebonne Parish. He served that school for 22 years. He was the 
only principal in that parish to keep his job after integration.

He became an ordained minister of the United Methodist Church in 1952. He 
served at Mount Vernon United Methodist, Walmsley United Methodist, Mason 
United Methodist, Trinty United Methodist, Winan United Methodist, Calvary 
United Methodist and Magnolia United Methodist.

He was an active member of St. JosephÕs Lodge No. 15, Rosa Sharon Chapter 24 
Royal Arch, John Parson Consistory No. 170 32nd degree Mason, Supreme Council 
33rd degree Mason, Rebecca Chapter of the Order of Eastern Stars No. 23, the 
Lafourche Parish Branch of the National Associations for the Advancement of 
Colored People and the Thibodaux Housing Authority Board.

To honor him for his work with the housing authority, the city named a street 
after Streams.  Louis Streams Circle is located in West Thibodaux.

Streams, is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cynthia Streams; son, Dr. Michael 
Louis Streams of Culver City, Calif.; daughter, Gwendolyn Sherrer Jackson of 
Thibodaux; brother Lionel Streams of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
