Falgout Funeral Home of Lock port is in charge of arrangements. ============================= Albertine Laris Retired teacher dies Albertine Luquette Laris, a retired Lafourche Parish teacher, died on Thursday. She had retired from the Lafourche Parish school system in 1967, after teaching 41 years. She received a teacher's certificate from Louisiana State Normal College, Natchitoches, now Northwestern University. She began her teaching career in Delta Farms, a farming community east of Larose. Most of her teaching was done in Lockport, however she spent time in Golden Meadow, District 7 in Valentine and in Raceland. After her retirement in 1967, she was active in various organizations including Catholic Daughters of America, Court Holy Savior No. 1867; Ladies Altar Society, Holy Savior Church; Lafourche Parish Retired Teachers; St. Anne Hospital Auxiliary; and various local card clubs. She will be remembered by hundreds of Lafourche Parish residents whom she taught in her 41 years. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness and generousity to the elderly and also to the children. She is survived by one daughter, Felicia Poonie Guidry, and two grandchildren, Edward and Anne Guidry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F.
