He was 75. Pugh was a native of Napoleonville and a Resident of Thibodaux since 1940. He served as city attorney for Thibodaux from 1947 to 1956. He also served on the Lafourche Parish Selective Service Board from 1967 to 1976 and was a member of the board of commissioners of Thibodaux Hospital and Health Centers, service district 3, for 25 years. He was also a member and past commander of the VFW, the American Legion and Walter Lanier Masonic Lodge 307. Pugh received an undergraduate and Saw degree from Louisiana State University, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. He served in Europe during World War II as a major in the 76th Infantry Division, where he received the Bronze Star medal. After his discharge in September 1945, he returned to Thibodaux to resume his law practice. Pugh was a member of the Rotary Club for many years, a past president and member of the Boston Club, a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Association and the Lafourche Parish Bar Association. He served on the Louisiana Commission on Human Relations, Rights and Responsibilities in 1965. He also served on the Louisiana Bar Association's Commission for Professional Responsibility between 1969 and 1979 and in 1986 was named an Honorary Nicholls State University Alumni. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife; three sons John F.
