A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Christ the 
Redeemer Catholic Church in Thibodaux for Isabel Gautreaux Benoit, 77, a native 
of Labadieville and resident of Thibodaux, who died at 9:11 p.m. Wednesday.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Friday at the church. 
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

She was the mother of Jeannette Thibodaux and Thomas Benoit; and sister of 
Grace Gervais and Clifford Gautreaux. She is also survived by five 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Benoit; her parents, 
Philomene Arcement and Alcee Gautreaux; two daughters, Rose Marie and Margaret 
Benoit; one brother, Alcee Gautreaux Jr.; and a sister, Gertrude Gautreaux.

Mennonite Church in Des Allemands for Verna Comardelle Hartsell, 63, a native 
and resident of Des Allemands, who died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday.

She was the daughter of Virgie LaValley; mother of Victoria Koontz and Henry

Comardelle; and one grandson.

ROSS-REYNOLDS DIES FROM HEART DISEASE

Jane Ross-Reynolds, Nicholls State University assistant psychology professor 
and community volunteer, died Thursday evening from heart disease.

Ross-Reynolds, 45, was an assistant professor in psychology and counsel 
education at Nicholls State for six years. The Terrebonne Parish Coroner's 
Office issued a preliminary report listing the cause of death as pulmonary 
hypertension. A memorial service will take place in the Plantation Room of 
Nicholls State University at 4 p.m. Sunday, preceded by visitation from 2-4 
p.m.

Ross-Reynolds is survived by her husband Gary Ross-Reynolds; mother, Pinky Ross 
of Houston; son, Geoff Ross-Reynolds; and brother; Dr. Terry Ross of Austin, 
Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father Dr. Griff T. Ross.

Murray Dennis, service manager for the Lafourche Parish Chapter of the American 
Red Cross, said Ross-Reynold's death is a personal loss to her and the 
community.

"She gave so much of herself in so many ways," Dennis said. "She always 
volunteered to help with counseling of fire victims. She also worked well with 
children of fire victims and she worked with families during the Desert Storm."

CHAD CAVALIER

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 
in Larose for Chad Anthony Cavalier, 18, a native and resident of Larose, who 
died Monday.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

He was the son of Cheryl Callais and Terry Cavalier; brother of Tanya Cavalier; 
grandson of Jean and George Callais and Hazel Helmer.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Raymond Cavalier.

Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland was in charge of arrangements.

JOHNNY GAUTREAUX

A funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey 
for Johnny A. Gautreaux, 80, a native of Lockport and resident of Westwego, who 
died at 1 p.m. Monday.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady 
of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Westwego. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 
p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

He was the husband of Lena Plaisance Gautreaux; father of Joyce Trepagnier, 
Marie Guise and Johnny Jr. and Charles Gautreaux; and brother of Jeanne 
Galliano, Inez Allemand, Marie Dufrene, Wilma Gaudet, Earline Chaisson. He is 
also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Gautreaux; parents, Mathilde Barrios 
and Phillip Gautreaux; and brothers, Phillip Jr. and Edward Gautreaux.

A religious service will be at 8 p.m. today at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 
Donaldsonville for Ethel Randolph, 85, a native of Thibodaux and resident of 
Donaldsonville, who died at 10:09 a.m. Monday.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until funeral time at the church. Dismissal will 
be at 11 a.m. Saturday with interment in the church cemetery.

She was the sister of Sullivan Dabney of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. L.S. Randolph.

DIDIER TERREBONNE JR.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church in Cut Off for Didier Terrebonne Jr., 73, a native of Golden Meadow and 
resident of Cut Off, who died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Interment was in Hebert Cemetery in Galliano.

He was the brother of Lorris, Alcess, Julian and Michael Terrebonne, Leonise 
Cheramie and Nancy Danos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleonise Cheramie and Didier 
Terrebonne; a brother, Alcee Terrebonne; and a sister, Josephine Terrebonne.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph 
Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux for Lambert E. Toups, 83, a native and resident of 
Thibodaux, who died at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time 
Thursday at Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux. Interment will be in St. Joseph 
Cemetery.

He was the brother of Emma Toups and Marie Leonard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Lambert and Edgar Toups; and a 
brother, A.H. Toups Sr.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. 
Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Gonzales for Louis J. Boudreaux, a native 
of Napoleonville and resident of Gonzales, who died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 to 11:15 a.m. Saturday at 
Welsh Funeral Home in Gonzales. Interment will be in Hope Haven Mausoleum in 
Gonzales.

He was the husband of Elaine Boudreaux of Gonzales; stepfather of Thomas and 
Denis Kenney, both of Gonzales; brother of Barbara Haynes of Baker and Melvin 
Boudreaux of Port Allen. He is also survived by five grandchildren, five step-
grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Accardo; and parents, Calice Vice 
and Rudolph Boudreaux.

He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II.

Valverda for Rosetta Duncan "Moma Rose" Cox, a native of Thibodaux and resident 
of Maringouin, who died in January (??).

Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Friday at A. Wesley Funeral Home in 
Maringouin. Dismissal will be at noon Saturday with interment in Mount Pilgrim 
Baptist Church Cemetery in Maringouin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. 
Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux for Uriel "Billy" Gaubert, 76, a native 
of St. Charles community and resident of Thibodaux, who died at 10:45 a.m. 
Thursday.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 10 p.m. today at Landry's Funeral Home in 
Thibodaux and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the church. Interment 
will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He was the husband of Therese Sposito Gaubert: father of Linda Ekiss, Anne 
LaRose, Faie Duplantis and Martha Christensen; brother of Levie Gaubert and 
Paula Legendre. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emily Ledet and Lange Gaubert; 
brothers, Hercules and Simon Gaubert; sisters, Corrine Bourgeois and Lucy Mae 
Gros.

Home for Floretine L. Landry, 93, a native and resident of Thibodaux, who died 
at 12:55 a.m. today (Thursday Jan 30, 1992 ??).

Visitation will be from 5:30 to p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time 
Monday at Landry Funeral Home in Thibodaux. Interment will be in the church 
cemetery.

She was the mother of Hamlin Landry and Ina Boudreaux. She also survived by 
three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Eulalie Chiasson and Villier Landry; a 
stepson, Ulleans Landry: six brothers and three sisters.

Catholic Church Thibodaux for Wilton Joseph Thibodaux, 67, a native of Donner a 
resident of Thibodaux, who died 3:07 a.m. Thursday.

Visitation will be from 6 to p.m. today at Thibodaux Funer Home and from 10:30 
a.m. until funeral time Friday at the church Interment will be in St. Charles 
Borromeo Cemetery in St. Charles community.

He was the husband of Valerie Howes Thibodaux; father of Wayne and Matthew 
Thibodaux and Elizabeth Bilcik; brother of Lena Melancon, Betty Freemin, Violet 
David, Lydia Giroir and Virginia Thibodaux. He is also survived one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by father, Louis Thibodaux; mother Bernadette Saucier; 
and a sister, Delores Cancienne.

Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Earl John Layus, 73, a native of New 
Orleans and resident of Leeville, who died at 6:15 p.m. Friday.

Interment was in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

He was the husband of Felicia Liner Layus; father of June Bagala, Earline 
Coston, Marilyn Guidry, Carolyn Robert; brother of Florence Lindner. He is also 
survived by 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Mouhaurat and Felix Layus; 
brothers, Germain and Louis Layus; sisters, Marie LeBlanc and Noelie Bourne.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.
