YVONNE GUILBEAU

A religious service will take place at noon Tuesday at Our Lady of LaSalette 
Chapel in Golden Meadow for Yvonne P. Guilbeau, a native of New Orleans and 
resident of Grand Isle, who died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. today and 8:00 a.m. until funeral 
time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano.

She was the wife of Rogers Guilbeau Sr.; mother of Christopher Cheramie, Frank 
Guilbeau, Cheryl Chandler, Janiece Messick and Elizabeth Cheramie; sister of 
John L., Charles Jr., and Elwin Perrot Sr., Mary Thorndon and Elizabeth Mathews. 
She is also survived by seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles J. and Elizabeth Cortie 
Perrot, a brother, Edward Morlier; and sisters, Audrey Glover, Alicia Millier 
and Patricia Sprouse.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary 
Church in Raceland for Carl "Carlo" Matherne, 31, a native and resident of 
Raceland, who died Sunday.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. today and from 7:00 a.m. until 
funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland.

Interment will be in St. Mary Church cemetery in Raceland.

He was the son of Kirlin and Lou Emma Loupe Matherne; father of Allison 
Elizabeth Matherne; brother of Anita M. Bourgeois, Lauren Matherne Gervais and 
Edward, Aaron and Duane Matherne. He is also survived by five nieces and three 
nephews.

He was preceded in death his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Matherne Sr., 
and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Loupe Sr.

She was the wife of Ignace Adams Jr.; mother of Russell Joseph Adams, Debra

She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren Hebert; parents, Arthur

She was the mother of Thelma Griffin Schouest, Eumes Jr., Nolte, Charles and 
Steve Griffin; sister of Dolcina C. Terrebonne and Roosevelt Cheramie. She is 
also survived by 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eumes P. Griffin; parents, Olucien and 
Elmire Lombas Cheramie; brothers, Cleveland and Oleus Cheramie; sisters, Violet 
Terrebonne and Avida Cheramie, She was also preceded in death by one great-
great-grandchild.

for Thresa J. Sanders, 69, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Thibodaux 
who died at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday.

She was the mother of Audrey Mae Turner, Lloyd Jones, Walter Jones and George

Orleans, Louis Carcisse of Labadieville, Dora Smith and Leslie Wiggins, both of 
Napoleonville. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren 
and a devoted friend, Frank Johnson Sr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sanders; parents, James and Leona 
Carcisse. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Religious services were held at 10 a.m. today at the Church of Assumption for 
Stephen Young Fortier, 35, a resident of Franklin who died Wednesday.

Interment was in the Franklin Cemetery.

He was the husband of Cathleen Coleman Fortier of Franklin; father of Jonathan 
Coleman Walden of Franklin; brother of Leonard Vann Fortier of Abbeville and 
Alan Brown Fortier of Thibodaux; son of Abraham Brown "Mickey" Fortier of 
Abbeville.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Vann Fortier; grandparents, 
Abraham and Leita DeGravelle Fortier Sr. and Leonard and Imogene Maxwell Vann.

Since 1985, Fortier has been president and general manager of a car dealership 
and vice-chairman of the Franklin Emergency Aid Center Board of Directors.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Emergency Aid Center, Franklin, are 
preferred.

Choctaw for Ashton Paul Ordoyne, 55, a native and resident of Choctaw who died 
at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

time Friday at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux.

Interment will be in St. James Chapel cemetery in Choctaw.

He was the son of Lulia Hebert Ordoyne; father of Lulia B. Ordoyne; brother of 
Susie Tabor, Mary Lou Cortez, Ruth Kraemer, Wilton and Bruce Ordoyne. He is, 
also survived by one grandchild, Jacob Paul Ordoyne.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Ordoyne.

She was the sister of Amelia Saliba of Mobile, Ala., and Emile Ameen. She is

He was the husband of Lois Guidry Guidroz; father of Sidney Guidroz Jr. and 
Elsie Guidry; brother of Nora Adams, Harris Guidroz, Ernest Guidroz and Irvin 
Guidroz. He is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Zoe Richoux Guidroz; 
brothers, Feliz and Sylvester Guidroz; sisters, Jeanne Chiasson and Elvira 
Morvant.

Church in Schriever for Stella Callahan Ledet, 92, a native of Lafourche Parish

She was preceded in death by her husband, McLean Ledet; parents, Trasimond and

CLARENCE SOUTHALL JR.

Clarence "Toon" Southall Jr., 73, the first black member of the Assumption 
Parish School Board, died this morning.

Southall was a native and resident of Plattenville. He founded Southall Funeral 
Home in 1952. He was president of Williams and Southall Funeral Home.

He was elected to the School Board in 1971 and served from 1972 to 1986. He was 
also the first black selected to serve on the Lafourche Basin Levee Board.

Southall was a veteran of World War II.

He was past state supreme commander of the Knights of St. Peter Claver and past 
supreme purser of the fourth degree Knights of St. Peter Claver.

He was the husband of Margurite Southall and the father of Julie Johnson, 
Phyliss Thomas, Theresa Julian, Micheal and Maurice Southall. He is also 
survived by 11 grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict de Moore Catholic Church 
in Bertrandville for Clarence "Toon" Southall Jr., a native and resident of 
Plattenville who died Thursday.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at Williams and Southall 
Funeral Home, 2 until 8 p.m. at St. Benedict de Moore Catholic Church and 9 a.m. 
until funeral time Monday.

Interment will be in St. Benedict de Moore Catholic Church cemetery in 
Bertrandville.

He was the husband of Margurite James Southall; father of Judith S. Johnson, 
Michael K. Southall Maurice B. Southall, Phyliss T. Southall, and Theresa S. 
Julien; brother of the Rev. Obbie Southall of Plattenville, Amos Southall of 
Belle Rose, Ruth Seymore of Houston, Ollie Southall of New Orleans, Pecola S. 
Rome of New Orleans, and Ora S. Thompson of Donaldsonville.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Genevieve Catholic Church for Henry "Peanut" John Usey, 69, a native and 
resident of Thibodaux, who died 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the church.

Interment will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He was the husband of Rita Guillot Usey; father of Janet Molaison of Labadieville 
and Sandra Dudek of Houma; brother of Lucille Morvant, Ella Andras, 
Thomas Usey, Wilson Usey and Marcelle Usey Jr. He is also survived by two 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelle and Helen Pitre Usey Sr.; a 
brother, Remy Usey, and sisters, Ula Bonvillian and Laura Usey.

MARY AYO PELTIER

The funeral of May Ayo Peltier, 90, Thibodaux philanthropist and civic leader, 
was Saturday morning at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux.

Peltier died Friday at 11:10 a.m. at Thibodaux Hospital and Health Centers 
following a brief illness.

She was the wife of the late Harvey A. Peltier, Thibodaux lawyer, Louisiana 
state senator and president of Citizens Bank and Trust Co., now First Interstate 
Bank of South Louisiana. The Peltiers were instrumental in promoting numerous 
philanthropic causes in the Thibodaux area, many relating to education and 
recreation. They were strong supporters of Nicholls State University, St. Joseph 
Elementary and E.D. White Catholic High School. The stadium at E.D. White 
carries the Peltier name as does the city's primary park and recreation center. 
Buildings at Nicholls are named for members of the Peltiers families.

Harvey Peltier died Nov. 12, 1977; after his death, May Peltier donated the home 
they had built along Bayou Lafourche in Thibodaux to the Houma-Thibodaux Diocese 
of the Roman Catholic Church. The home is being used as the bishop's residence.

A native of Raceland, Peltier was the only daughter of Dr. Jackson J. Ayo one of 
the earliest doctors on Bayou Lafourche and Alida Lepine Ayo. She was educated 
at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans.

She was married to Harvey Peltier on Dec. 22, 1921. Along with her duties as 
wife and mother of four and a daughter she was a member of the Thibodaux College 
Mothers Club, the St. Joseph Hospital now Thibodaux Hospital and Health Centers 
Auxiliary and many other civic organizations.

She is survived by three sons Donald Peltier, Dr. James Peltier and Richard 
Peltier, all of Thibodaux; one daughter, Mrs. Warren Harang Jr. of Thibodaux; 2; 
grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parent’s and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, 
Harvey A. Peltier Jr.; three brothers, Jackson J. Ayo Jr. Hubert Ayo and Dr. T. 
Benton Ayo; and five grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the E. D. White Catholic High School Building 
Fund.

for Agnes Roussel Hibler, 91, a native and resident of Labadieville who died at 
9 a.m. Friday.

She was the wife of Henry Frank Hibler; mother of Henry Louis Hibler. She was 
preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Alice Boudreau Roussel; and a 
sister, Lillian Roussel.

Chackbay who died at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Interment was in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church cemetery in Chackbay.

She was the wife of Willie Leon Adams; mother of Daisy Boudreaux, Lillian Adams, 
Evelyn Oubre, Marisa Clement, Windlass, Sterling and Gary Adams; sister of 
Wilbert and Delonie Kraemer and Pauline Guidry. She is also survived by 24 
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Etienne and Daisy Nicholas Kraemer; 
brothers, Junior and Robert Kraemer; a sister, Lillian Legendre; a daughter, 
Silby Percle. She is also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren.

who died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday.

Labadieville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to funeral time Friday at Williams and 
Southall Chapel.

He was the husband of Myrtle Campbell; father of Raymond Campbell Jr. and 
Curtis, Kenneth, Eloise, Estelle, Linda and Ruby Wesley; brother of Ruby Brown, 
Estelle Jones, Clara Edmonds and Henry, John, Eddie, Curtis and Joseph Campbell. 
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, 
relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Henry Campbell; a brother, 
Willie Campbell; a sister, Thelma Franklin; and a son. Larry Wesley.

Lancon of Thibodaux; brother of Scurley Lancon of Morgan City; grandfather of

He was the husband of June Guidry; father of Renee Rutherford, Donald Guidry 
Jr., Reggie Guidry and James Guidry; brother of Jerry Guidry and Millie Smith. 
He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Guidry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion 
Post 316.

He was the husband of Eunice Domangue Rogers; father of Superintendent of 
Lafourche Parish-Schools Arden J. Rogers Sr. of Golden Meadow, Ronnie J. Rogers 
of Houma, Dale M. Rogers of New Orleans and Paulette Fournier of Houma; brother 
of Roland Rogers of Des Allemands, Alfred Rogers and Dallas Rogers of Houma, 
Belle Matherne and Valley Bascle of Bourg. He is also survived by five 
grandchildren, one step-grandchild, six great-grandchildren and one step-great-
grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Seraphin and Josephine LeCompte Rogers;

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in 
Thibodaux for businessman Joseph Benton "J.B" Dupont Sr., 70, who died Friday.

Dupont, a resident and native of Thibodaux, was a graduate Tulane University in 
New Orleans where he studied business administration. He served in the U.S. Army 
during World War II.

From 1968 to 1987, Dupont served as purchasing agent at Nicholls State 
University. He was also president of Dupont Realty Co. of Houma, and Interstate 
Wholesale Grocers, two family-owned businesses.

He was also a charter member of the Bayou Country Club.

During the 1960s, he was manager of Percy-Lobdell Wholesale Grocers.

He was buried at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

Dupont was the husband of Frances Breaux Dupont; father of Dr. J. Benton Dupont 
Jr., of Baton Rouge, Suzanne Dupont House, of Franston, Texas, Lt. Col. Martin 
Edward Dupont, of Washington D.C., and James Douglas Dupont, of Westfield, N.J.; 
and brother of John M. Dupont Jr. and Henry J. "Dookie" Dupont, both of 
Thibodaux.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

Dupont was preceded in death by his parents, John M. Dupont Sr. and Odette Foret 
Dupont, and sister, Marie Elise Dupont.
