A religious service is scheduled for 6 p.m. today at the New Mt. Zion Baptist 
Church in Raceland for Arthur Griffin, 69, a native of Centerville, Miss., and 
resident of Larose, who died Friday, July 1.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Dismissal will be 11 a.m. Friday, and burial will be in the church's cemetery.

He was the husband of Ida Mae Griffin of Larose; father of Gracie Lee Gardner 
and Emma Jean McGowen, both of Larose; brother of, Alfred Griffin of Baton 
Rouge and Foley Griffin of California. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren 
and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both parents; two sons; a daughter; and a brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of 
Prompt Succor Catholic .Church in Chackbay for Elie H. Tabor, 76, a native and 
resident of Chackbay who died Friday July 1 at 11:40 p.m.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was the husband of Madise Morvant Tabor; father of Ray Tabor, Sara T. 
Mabile, Darlene Tabor and Genelie Tabor; brother of Victor Tabor and Beatrice 
Thibodeaux. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cecile Ponville Tabor, three 
brothers and one sister.

Cut Off resident, who died at 7:45 p.m. Friday July 1.

in Galliano for Raymond Mayheart Dardar, 73, a native of Golden Meadow and 
resident of Boothville, who died Sunday, July 2, at 9 p.m.

Visitation will be from 6-11 p.m. today and from 7-10 a.m. Wednesday at the 
funeral home.

Burial will be in Indian Cemetery in Golden Meadow.

He was the husband of Eloise Mae Galloway Dardar; father of Michael and Joseph

Crosby. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Bridgette Williams Dardar; two

City for Lawrence Dyer Sr., 70, a native of Thibodaux and resident of 
Patterson, who died at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 2.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Patterson Memorial Cemetery.

He is was the husband of Jessie Mae Dyer of Patterson; father of Lawrence Dyer 
Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., Gina Willis, Johnell, Donovan and Barry Dyer, all of 
Patterson, Joyce Nash of New Orleans, Mary Brown and Anita Dyer, both of 
Oakland, Calif., and Bernadine Martin of Beaumont, Texas; brother of George

Guidry Shelley and Beverly Guidry Dobson, a half brother, Robert Champagne and 
half sister, Lorida Auseve; and 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre Enoche Guidry, parents, 
Gerisse and Lucy Chouest Kiffe; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild, her 
daughter, Royeuna Guidry O'Quin; brothers, Azinor, Harris, Lodriguess and 
Loveless Kiffe; half brother, Lloydman Champagne; step brother, Madio

Myrtie Welch, Bernice Lukasik, Avis Carruth, Effie Franklin and Laurel Monk;

Wellman was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Clifford and Francis 
Emmerline Bedgood Wellman and his daughter, Georgia Sue Wellman.

She was an employee of the Lafourche Parish School System, having taught home 
economics at Golden Meadow Junior High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonce A. Gros; parents, Cecile

A funeral took place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Third Zion Baptist Church for 
Elijah Triggs Jr., 74, a native of Raceland and resident of Thibodaux, who died 
Thursday, July 7.

Burial was in Lafourche Crossing Young Men Cemetery.

He was the brother of James and Sidney Triggs; father of Marie, Christine, 
Darlane, Herbert, Ronnie and Lawrence Triggs, Val Shelby, Veia Adam and Louise 
Haughton; brother of Carrie Shelby, Clara Triggs, Theresa Boyd, Ida Coleman and 
Leonea Jackson. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Harris Triggs; parents, Mr. and 
Mrs. Elijah Triggs Sr.; a daughter, Evelyna Triggs; two brothers, Andrew and 
Joseph Triggs; and two sisters, Rosetta and Albertha False.

He was a member of Third Zion Baptist Church.

In Monday's obituary for Elijah Triggs Jr., he was not a member of Third Zion 
Baptist Church.

Catholic Church in Cut Off for Lucille Mollere Chabert, 77, a native of 
Lockport and resident of Cut Off, who died at 10 a.m. Friday, July 8.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was the wife of Harris Chabert Sr.; mother of Roland, Mike and Harris 
Chabert Jr. and Susie Chabert Hebert; sister of Wilson Mollere, Aline M. 
Chabert and Nola M. Leone. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and three 
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonce Victor and Ella LeBlanc 
Mollere; two sons, Harrison and Higgins Chabert; and a sister, Lillie M. 
Guidry.

Wollen Falgout

Wollen Falgout of Raceland died Friday (July 8) afternoon after suffering a 
heart attack while driving on U.S. 90 in Mathews.

Falgout led an active public life, serving as a state representative, assistant 
district attorney and state district judge. 

Falgout was born in Vacherie-Gheens on Nov. 2, 1927. He contracted polio as a 
child and suffered from pain associated with post-polio syndrome the rest of 
his life.

He graduated with honors from Raceland High School in 1945, Louisiana State 
University in 1949 and the LSU Law School in 1951.

He was inducted into the LSU Law School Hall of Fame on Nov. 14, 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Leslie Falgout; his mother, Adail Matherne 
Falgout; sons, William and James Falgout; daughters, Jane Ellen Estes, 
Elizabeth "Betsy" Pierret, Lauren Chopin, Kathleen "Keeny" Loupe and Robyn 
Moss; sisters, Mercy Duet and Audrey Pitre; half brother, Cleo Demares; and 13 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Falgout.

Donations to the Lafourche Parish Juvenile Justice Facility in Thibodaux or 
Easter Seals are preferred.

The funeral was scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Raceland Assembly of God.

Jon Nicholas Mire, 34, died July 8 in San Francisco.

He was the son of Colleen A. Cuneo and Rivers J. "Bud" Mire; brother of Deborah 
M. Pylant, Christa M. Lagarde and Robin M. Traigle.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sidney and Vivian Adams and 
Nicholas and Vermine Mire.

She was the wife of Edgar "Mick" Adams; mother of Clifton, Roy, Lester, Dudley

sister of Eddie Guillot, Zoie Ledet and Maude Braud. She is also survived by 30 
grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Julia Mire Guillot; five 
brothers, Celestine, John, Guy, Russell and Nolan Guillot; two sisters, Louise 
Toups and Melanie Dominick; and one great-grandchild.

George Octave DeLisle, 75, a native of Somerset, Wisc., and resident of 
Raceland, was buried at Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary.

He died Tuesday, July 12.

He was the father of George F Hill of North Dakota, Therese DeLisle of Burbank, 
Calif., and Barbara Phillips. He is also survived by two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emma Belisle DeLisle; and a 
brother, Allen DeLisle.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Church in Thibodaux for Johnie Alford Pearson Sr., 72, a native of Florida and

He was the father of Johnie A. Pearson Jr. and Diane Pearson Giroir; brother of

Thomas Warren Michot, a native of Lafayette and resident of Napoleonville died 
Sunday, July 17, 1994, at 8 a.m. after a long illness.

Michot, 67, a World War II veteran, served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the

mopping up operations, and the occupation of Japan.

He was the husband of Paula Kivisto Eagan; father of Gerald P. Jr., Andrew, 
Sean and Patrick Eagan; brother of William A. Jr., John, Kathleen J. and Inez 
M. Eagan and Patricia E. Norman. He is also survived by five grandchildren and 
one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Phereby E. Sheppard 
Eagan Sr.; a brother, Robert A. Eagan; and a sister, Phereby E. Perniciaro.

He was a former member of the West Thibodaux Fire Department and the 
Independent Athletic Club of Thibodaux.

Detroit Roy

A funeral took place at 8 p.m. Sunday at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland for 
Detroit Roy, 74, a native of New Orleans and resident of Raceland, who died 
Saturday, July 30.

Burial was in Morristown Cemetery in Raceland.

He was the father of Detroit Roy Jr., Deborah R. Deseraux and Susie Shelby, all 
of Raceland, Larry Roy of New Orleans and Kenneth Roy of Houma; brother of Arma 
Francisco and Dorothy Belton, both of New Orleans. He is also survived by three 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Augustine Miller Roy; parents, Joseph and 
Elizabeth Roy Sr.; two brothers, Joseph Jr. and James Roy; and a sister, 
Josephine McCray.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland was in charge of arrangements.

Elfere Billiot Sr.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Memorial Park 
in White Settlement, Texas, for Elfere S. Billiot Sr., 73, a native of Larose 
and resident of Fort Worth, Texas, who died Sunday, July 31.

Visitation will be all day Thursday at the Memorial Chapel in White Settlement.

He was the husband of Lorethea Billiot of Fort Worth; father of Robert, Laca, 
Freddy and Samson Billiot, Jenny Diaz and Christine Garcia, all of Forth Worth; 
brother of Frank and Ana Billiot, both of Houma, and Orleans Billiot and 
Dolcina Dupree, both of Cut Off, Augustine Crepell of Venice, Bridget Matherne 
of Morgan City and Odilia Verdin of Galliano. He is also survived by 22 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Memorial Chapel of White Settlement, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.

Duffy Guidry Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church in Cut Off for Duffy Joseph Guidry Sr., 64, a native and 
resident of Cut Off who died of cancer at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, July 31.

Burial will be in the church's cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Bergeron Guidry; sons Duffy Jr., Kenneth and 
Cory Guidry; daughters, Leslie G. Guillotte and Jeannine Cheramie; a brother, 
Gilbert Guidry; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gibson P. and Marceline Lefort Guidry, 
and one grandchild.

He was a Veteran of the military and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
