Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano was in charge of arrangements. ============================= Wollen Falgout Wollen Falgout of Raceland died Friday (July 8) afternoon after suffering a heart attack while driving on U.S. 90 in Mathews. Falgout led an active public life, serving as a state representative, assistant district attorney and state district judge. Falgout was born in Vacherie-Gheens on Nov. 2, 1927. He contracted polio as a child and suffered from pain associated with post-polio syndrome the rest of his life. He graduated with honors from Raceland High School in 1945, Louisiana State University in 1949 and the LSU Law School in 1951. He was inducted into the LSU Law School Hall of Fame on Nov. 14, 1987. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Leslie Falgout; his mother, Adail Matherne Falgout; sons, William and James Falgout; daughters, Jane Ellen Estes, Elizabeth "Betsy" Pierret, Lauren Chopin, Kathleen "Keeny" Loupe and Robyn Moss; sisters, Mercy Duet and Audrey Pitre; half brother, Cleo Demares; and 13 grandchildren.
