Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Bella Adams Estay, 78, a native of Larose 
and resident of Cut Off, who died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at the church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was the wife of Joseph "Pete" Estay; mother of Helen Dufrene, Peggy 
Boudreaux and Patsy Estay; sister of John and Dudley Adams and Daisy Bourgeois. 
She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcide and Elmire Melancon Adams; 
four brothers, Alcide Jr., Horace, Dominique and Alces Adams; and two sisters, 
Jean Barrilleaux and Annie Fonseca.

service Saturday at Thibodaux Funeral Home.

Burial will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He was the husband of Rosadel Trosclair Fakier; father of Louis and Allison 
Fakier and Deena Perkins; brother of Albert Fakier and Louise Ford. He is also 
survived by four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Florence Borne Fakier; and 
two brothers, Theophile and Joseph Fakier.

grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melian and Manuela Bernard Plaisance;

Des Allemands for Mae Matherne Dufrene, 75, a native of Bayou Blue and resident 
of Bayou Gauche, who died at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2.

Burial was in Mennonite Cemetery in Des Allemands.

She was the wife of Herbert Dufrene; mother of Bob W., Richard, Murray and 
Evelyn D. Dufrene; sister of Earl "Pete" and Ruth Matherne, Pearl Dufrene, 
Ollie Rogers, Winnie Authement and Enola Martin. She is also survived by eight 
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lovincy and Elvire Arceneaux 
Matherne; and three brothers, Louis, Wiltz and Percy Matherne.

A graveside service took place at 11 a.m. today at Bright Morning Star Baptist 
Cemetery in Napoleonville for Don J. Kennedy, 36, a native and resident of 
Napoleonville, who died Friday, Sept. 2.

He was the husband of Deborah Ward Kennedy; father of Debbie, Jane, Keisha, 
Alfred, Desmond and Derrick Kennedy, all of Napoleonville; son of Annie Rose 
Kennedy of New Orleans; brother of Joycelyn Toler of New Mexico, Donna K. 
Robertson of Napoleonville, Stella K. Jones and William and Ronnie Kennedy, 
all of New Orleans, and Chyvette K. Hays of Clinton.

Bob Schoen

At 11:20 a.m. Friday (Sep. 2), Bob Schoen died following a two-year fight with 
cancer. He was 67.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral 
Home in Houma. Mass will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be 
in Hope Mausoleum in St. John Cemetery in New Orleans.

He was born in the Gentilly area of New Orleans, graduated from Loyola 
University and served in World War II as a supply clerk.

Following the war, he fell in love with the friendly people of the Houma area 
while working for Nabisco Foods. In 1964, he started his business, Bob's Pizza 
Palace.

Besides his wife, Schoen is survived by three sons, Robert J. Schoen Jr. of 
Baton Rouge, Patrick Schoen of Houma, and Michael Schoen of Covington; a 
stepson, Arby Snyder of Houma; three daughters, Peggy Dicks of Metairie, Evelyn 
Schrems of Covington, and Maureen Davenport of Houston; a stepdaughter, Becky 
Edge of Texarkana, Texas; a brother, Jacob Rennes Schoen Jr. of Covington; a 
sister, Miriam Stokes of Covington; and 23 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Miriam "Mae" Goldstein 
Schoen Sr.; and a stepson, Bobby Lee Snyder Jr.

Catholic Church in Raceland for Joseph I. Boudreaux Sr., 63, a native of White 
Castle and resident of Raceland, who died at 10:35 a.m. Saturday Sept. 3.

Burial was hi the church cemetery.

He was the father of Joseph I. Jr., Thomas and Judy Ann Boudreaux, JoAnn 
Savoie, Mary Susan Bonar and Sally Meyer Bellenger; brother of Carlton 
Boudreaux, Alice Faye Theriot, Vera Sanchez and Inez Richard. He is also 
survived by 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Sanchez Boudreaux; second 
wife, Elsie Sevin Boudreaux; parents, Joseph and Inez Adam Boudreaux; a 
brother, Larry Boudreaux; and a sister, Shirley Marino.

He was a member of KC Council 4761, KC 4th Degree Rev. Hermit Trahan 1878, 
American Legion Post 349, Societe 40/8, Voiture Lacale 1038 and Woodmen of the 
World.

City for Orlean Gash Smyles Wesley, 84, a native of Patterson and resident of

Morgan City.

Dismissal will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, and burial will be in Morgan City

Portier was an employee of Southdown Sugars at the Greenwood Sugar Factory.

He was the husband of Elizabeth Ledet Portier, and father of Huey Portier, 
Richard Portier, Walter Portier, Gerald Portier, Carolyn Poole, Rose Marie 
Crochet and Jo Ann Perque. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 21 
great-grandchildren.

Portier was preceded in death by his parents, Walter A. and Julie Clement 
Portier, and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcide Sr. and Ada Bourg Martin; a
