Thibodaux Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements. ============================= Sister Teresita Daigle Sister Teresita Daigle, 86, a Carmelite nun who taught school in Thibodaux, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1994, at Mount Carmel Motherhouse in New Orleans. She was buried in St. Louis No. 3 cemetery in New Orleans on Friday. She devoted more than 60 years to education, teaching in schools in Thibodaux, Abbeville, Lafayette, New Iberia and New Orleans before her retirement in 1985. After retirement, she taught adult classes in scripture and French and received the Outstanding Service to Senior Citizens award from the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She was born Hilda Daigle in Lafayette March 18, 1908. She entered the Congregation of Mount Carmel in 1923 and was christened Sister Mary Teresita Aug. 6, 1924. She pronounced her perpetual vows in 1932. She received her teaching certificate at Mount Carmel Normal Training School, a bachelor's degree from Loyola University in New Orleans and master's degrees from Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. and the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. She is survived by her brothers, the Rev. Jules O. Daigle of Welsh, La., and Brother Basil Gabriel of Lafayette and sisters, Anne Sowar of Baton Rouge, Mildred Monies, Lydia Schoffler and Florence Boudreaux of Lafayette.
