A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 
St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville for Marie Dupuis Alleman, 87, a 
native and resident of Paincourtville, who died at 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 1.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today, and 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday 
at the Landry's Funeral Home in Napoleonville. Burial will follow at the church 
cemetery.

Alleman was the sister of Elizabeth Simoneaux and Phelonese Blanchard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Alleman; parents, Paul and 
Sidonia Solar Dupuis; and brother, Joseph Dupuis.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of 
the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose for Geraldine "Gerrie" Griffin Bouvier, 
47, a native of Galliano and resident of Larose, who died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, 
Jan. 2.

Burial will be in Hebert Cemetery in Galliano.

She was the wife of Irwin Bouvier; former wife of Eddie Berthelot Sr.; daughter 
of Gilbert and Irene Plaisance Griffin; mother of Eddie Jr. and Richard 
Berthelot, Annette B. Guidry and Suzette B. Davis; stepmother of Brian, Ferle 
and Curtis Bouvier and Mechelle Bouvier Chouest; sister of Jerry and Jeanette 
Griffin and Betty Duet; foster sister of Thomas and June Pinel. She is also 
survived by seven grandchildren.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Larose and a member 
of the Ladies Auxillary of American Legion Post No. 315 of Galliano.

Catholic Church in Lockport for Eloise Bourgeois Koebel, 89, a native and 
resident of Lockport, who died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at the church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was the mother of Laura Lee K. Gautreaux of Lockport; sister of Guy J. 
Bourgeois of Donaldsonville, Aline B. Breaux and Nora B. Acosta, both of 
Lockport, and Mary B. Gibbens of New Orleans. She is also survived by three 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin G. Koebel; parents, Thomas and 
Nora Mayet Bourgeois; and three brothers, Thomas J., Fernand J. and Conrad 
Bourgeois.

She was a parishioner of Holy Savior Church and was employed by the Lafourche 
Parish School Board, having taught school for 30 years. She was a member of the 
Louisiana Retired Teachers Association.

Cut Off for Cornelious Berryhill, 51, a native and resident of Cut Off, who 
died Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Dismissal will be 10 a.m. Monday, and burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was the son of Hazel Berryhill of Cut Off; brother of Horace Berryhill, Mary 
B. Andrews and Yvonne B. Gayle, all of Cut Off, and Lois B. Newbold of Jamacia, 
N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Berryhill; and a son, Darryl 
Berryhill.

She was the mother of Jimmie B. Martin Sr.; sister of Alburge Danos and Louise

and Helen Callahan Danos; three brothers, Adrien, Joseph and Athos Danos; and

by three grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and eight step great-
grandchildren.

Williams, 74, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Jennings, who died at 
7:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Burial with full military rites was held in Greenwood Cemetery.

He was the husband of Ethel Aguillard Williams; father of Nancy Billodeaux and 
Pam Miller, both of Jennings, Cheryl Arnold of Lake Charles and Gaynell Scuderi

retired gauger for Superior Oil Company. He was a member and deacon of First

Civil service advocate succumbs to cancer

Raymond T. "Ke Ke" Daigle, a longtime Thibodaux Civil Service board member who 
was re-elected chairman Tuesday, died Friday of complications from lung cancer.

He is being hailed by city officials and friends as a dedicated member of the 
community.

Daigle, a 66-year-old native and resident of Thibodaux, was diagnosed with 
cancer about six months ago, was hospitalized Thursday and died about 12:30 
p.m. Friday.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. 
Genevieve Catholic Church, where Daigle was a parishioner.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until funeral time at the church.

As a volunteer member of the Thibodaux Civil Service Board under five 
administrations and its chairman for years, Daigle was instrumental in 
improving the city's civil service rules, Civil Service Director Judy Carrier 
said.

"He was a pioneer for civil service here in the city. He loved civil service. 
This was his life," Carrier said. "He was a true advocate of civil service. He 
thought things had to be right for the employees, the taxpayers and yet for the 
administration, also. As a board member he thought he was answerable to all 
three of those."

Because of his leadership, an amendment to the Thibodaux City Charter 
establishing a true merit system was placed on ballots in 1993 and approved by 
voters.

The Louisiana Civil Service League awarded Daigle with the Monte M Lemann Award 
in October 1992.

Despite his lengthy service to city government, Daigle was never employed by 
the city.

Daigle graduated from Thibodaux High School and served as a seaman in the U.S. 
Navy from 1947-1950. He worked as a barber and distributor for the Baton Rouge 
"Morning Advocate" from about 1950 to about 1975.  From then he went to work at 
his brother Leo Daigle's radiator repair shop until his retirement in 1986.

Daigle served on the Religious Board of Education of St. Genevieve Catholic 
Church for years and taught religious education for two years.

Thibodaux Insurance Agent Johnny Jones will remember Daigle fondly.

"There was no one I was closer to, and no one I respected more," Jones said.

"He and I were in school together we played ball together. Ray was one of the 
rare people that come into our time. He was one of the most unselfish, civic-
minded.

Church in Raceland for Louis P. Foret, 76, a native and resident of Raceland, 
who died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22.

He was the husband of Jeanne Zeringue Foret; father of Shirley F. Torres and 
Susan F. Grabier; brother of Clovis Foret Jr. and Bernice Theriot.  He is also 
survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Charolette Aupied Foret; 
three brothers, Clarence, Tilton and Roy Foret; and four sisters, Enola

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest E. Sage; and a daughter, 
Susan Sage.
