A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph the 
Worker Catholic Church in Marrero for Mary Oncale Landry, 72, a native of 
Napoleonville and resident of Marrero, who died at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 1.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

She was the sister of Louis J. Oncale and Vivian Oncale Hymel, both of 
Thibodaux.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gillis P. Landry; parents, Alfred and 
Pauline Wendt Oncale; four brothers, Alfred, Leo, Henry and Phillip Oncale; and 
a sister, Lorita Oncale Douglas.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker and a resident of Wynhoven Health 
Care Center.

Elijah Randall

A funeral is scheduled for 8 p.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Raceland 
for Elijah "Two-Bits" Randall, 77, a native and resident of Raceland, who died 
at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, June 1.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Dismissal will be noon Friday, and burial will be in Benevolent Cemetery in 
Raceland.

The Rev. Leonard Celestine will officiate.

He was the husband of Lou Lillian Randall; father of Marvin Randall and 
Constance Robinson, both of Raceland. He is also survived by seven 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Sr. and Rebecca Speed Randall; 
four brothers, Richard Jr., Louis, Ervin and Namon Randall; and two sisters, 
Naomia and Lou Ella Randall.

He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a 
retired employee of South Coast Sugar Company.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church in Cut Off for Joseph Jean Estay, 79, a native of Lockport and 
resident of Cut Off, who died at 2:25 p.m. Friday, June 2.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was the father of Helen Dufrene, Peggy Boudreaux and Patsy Estay. He is also 
survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bella Adams Estay; parents, Joseph and 
Mathilde Adams Estay; three brothers, Lionel, Isreal and Evan Estay; and five 
sisters, Nola Dubois, Adia and Rhea Bourg, Elvira Scioneaux and Theoma Dufour.

Donations to Holy Rosary Catholic School are preferred.

in Labadieville for Sidney M. "Pete" Himel, 83, a native and resident of 
Labadieville, who died at 6:30 a.m. Friday, June 2.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was the husband of Marie Gauthreaux Himel; father of John Himel and Nora 
Himel Tardiff; brother of Ora H. Gros. He is also survived by three 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Devezin and Armelise D. Himel; five 
brothers, Adam, Willie, Luke, Augustin and Devezin Himel Jr.; a sister, Cora H. 
Porter; and a great-grandchild, Stephanie Tardiff.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Co-
Cathedral for Noelie Marie Sevin, 84, a native of Labadieville and resident of 
Thibodaux, who died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, June 2.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was the guardian of Marjorie C. Gaudet of Thibodaux and Grace C. Carter of 
New Iberia, raising them after their mother died. She is also survived by 10 
nieces and nephews and 29 grandnieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leondias and Ida Lasseigne Sevin; 
three brothers, Joseph, Earl and Harold Sevin; a sister, Dorise S. Clement; and 
two nephews.

She was a retired school teacher of 46 years in Assumption Parish. She was a 
member, of the Catholic Daughters, St. Joseph Lay Carmelites, the Ladies Altar 
Society and League of the Sacred Heart.

A funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland 
for Solomon "Newton" Wallis, 49, a native and resident of Raceland, who died at 
8:30 a.m. Friday, June 2.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.

He was the son of Earther Wallis; brother of Thedore, Charles and Jacob Wallis, 
all of Houma, Raymond, Rose Mary, Joan Marie and Vera Wallis, John Jr., Brenda 
Lee, Cynthia and Shelia Allen and Gloria Lee Holmes, all of New Orleans, and 
Johenell Wallis of Los Angeles.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Melvin Wallis; and two 
sisters, Albertha and Eartha Mae Wallis.

He was a retired worker from Brown Velvet.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenie Santiny Bradberry; parents, Marie

Leona Bradberry; five brothers, Tony, Phillip, Joe, John and Raymond Bradberry;

Donaldsonville.

She was the mother of Joseph, Samuel Jr., Warren Sr. and Gale Parker, all of

host of great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Parker Sr.; two sons; three 
daughters; two brothers; and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl A. Picou; second husband,

She was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

of Algiers, who died Sunday, June 11.

He was the husband of Roslyn Porche Gayle; stepson of Jolan Jackson; father of 
Nicholas Gayle of Gretna and Alicia and SheLanna Turner, both of Harvey; brother 
of Oscar Gayle Sr. of Cut Off, Tony Jackson of Jacksonville, Terror J. Hatchell 
of Richmond, Va., Leatrice J. Cotton of Gretna and Beatrice J. Manuel. He is 
also survived by one grandchild and nine step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elouise Gayle Jackson; a brother, James 
Cole; and a sister, Linda Jackson.

of cancer at East Jefferson Hospital.

Expressway, Marrero.

He was the husband of Rose Arceneaux Ledet; father of Mark J. Ledet, Cheryl L. 
Tourelle and Lisa L. Chartier; brother of Ernest Ledet, Bella Broussard and 
Pearl "Toni" Bossier. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Liberal Ledet; five brothers, Emile, 
Clovis "Crip," Edless, Norman and Forest "Nappy" Ledet; and a sister, Delia 
Breaux.

He was a retired employee of Celotex with 29 years of service. He was a U.S. 
Army Air Force veteran of World War II with a rank of sergeant. He received 4 
Bronze Star.

He was a member of Southern Conference, National Council of V.F.W. District No. 
19, a lifetime member of V.F.W. Marrero Post 7307, member of St. Joseph K of C 
Council 9384, quartermaster of Military Order of the Cootie Pup Tent No. 20. He 
was also a member of VFW of United States Fraternal Order of Commanders 
Fraternity, past captain of All American State Commander of VFW, district 
commander and post commander.

He was also a charter member of VFW Post 8536 in Larose, a parishioner of St. 
Joseph the Worker and past seamsquirrel of Military Order of the Cootie Pup Tent 
No. 20.

Local businessman James "Jimmy" Claude Jones Jr. died Thursday morning while 
vacationing with his family in Cashiers, N.C.

Jones, a native and resident of Thibodaux, was 68.

He was a partner in Jones Insurance Agency of Thibodaux for 40 years.

"They will remember that he was always smiling and always helping people." his 
brother, Johnny Jones, said. "He loved his friends, he loved his family and he 
loved Thibodaux. He was surrounded by many old school friends that will miss 
him.

"He had plenty of children and he opened his arms to all youngsters through his 
contributions to E. D. White athletics."

India theater of operation. He was also the Lt. Commander of Civilian 
Conservation Corp., past deputy Grand Knight Council 1099 of Napoleonville 
Knights of Columbus and past commander of Labadieville American Legion Post 284.

He was a member of the Assumption Parish Planning Committee and was retired from 
the Assumption Parish School Board as a classroom teacher, athletic coach and

Nativity Church in Raceland for Ellawave Saucier Foret, 65, a native and 
resident of St. Charles community, who died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, June 29.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was the wife of Windom Foret; mother of Linda Lirette; sister of Cullen, 
Lovell and Iris Saucier and Judy Pitre. She is also survived by three 
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aline Foret and Lucien Saucier; and a 
sister, Doris Champagne.

She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ the 
Redeemer Catholic Church for Carolyn Templet Hebert, 46, a native and resident 
of Thibodaux, who died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, June 29.

Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. today at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 
funeral time Saturday at the church.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

She was the wife of Charles E. Hebert; daughter of Dorothy Templet; mother of 
Amanda Marie and Craig Charles Hebert; sister of Michael, Loretta M. and Gary 
Templet and Fred Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her father, Camille P. Templet.

Oscar Prejean

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. today at St. Charles 
Borromeo Church for Oscar J. "Bee" Prejean, a native and resident of Thibodaux, 
who died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday, June 29. 

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

He was the husband of Lille Roussel Prejean. He is also survived by nieces 
Charmine Morel and Robin Harlem and other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felicin and Onesie Boudreaux Prejean; 
stepfather, J.Z. Toups; a brother, Herman Toups; and a sister, Mrs. Louis 
Bickmann.

He was a member of the Raceland Lions Club, Bayou Industrial Group, St. Charles 
Usher Society and La. Travelers Association.

Funeral services are scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Beulah Baptist Church 
in Bertrandville for Tetia Breaux Harris, 67, a native and resident of 
Napoleonville, who died at 8 p.m. Friday, June 30.

Visitation will be held from 2-4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Williams and Southall 
Funeral Home in Napoleonville and from 5 p.m. until funeral services at the 
church. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Levi Jones.

Dismissal is at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial is in the church cemetery.

She was the wife of Horace Harris; sister of Margaret B. Belt, and Mildred, 
Lionel, Welman and Hansen Breaux.

Lee Ledet

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at Holy Savior 
Catholic Church in Lockport for Lee "Red" Ledet, 82, a native and resident of 
Lockport, who died at 4:40 p.m. Friday, June 30.

Interment will be in the church mausoleum.

He was the father of Eddie and Dudley Ledet, Mary Lee Vedros, Dorothy Colby and 
Sandra Stevens; brother of Adolph Ledet, Noelia Triche and Enola Allemand. He is 
also survived by 17 grandchildren, three, step-grandchildren, 25 great-
grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lilly Pitre and Levy Ledet; five 
brothers, Forrest, Gustave, Nolan, Donis and Clifton Ledet; and two great-great-
grandchildren.

He was a parishioner of Holy Savior and an honorary member of KC Council No. 
3054. He was retired from Amoco Oil Co. with 42 years of service.
