Thibodaux Attorney dies Monday
Thomas Guzzetta

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Thibodaux Funeral Home for 
Thomas Guzzetta, 69, a Thibodaux attorney who died on Monday while vacationing 
in Portland, Ore.

Guzzetta, a native and resident of Thibodaux, practiced law in Thibodaux since 
1950, when he graduated from Louisiana State University Law School.

Guzzetta was a graduate of Raceland High School, where he played on the 
football team. He served three years in the Navy during World War II.

Visitation is from 6:30-9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday 
at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Burial is in Berwick-Willow Grove Cemetery in 
Berwick.

He was the brother of Paulette Arceneaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacquihto "Jake" and Delia Yocom 
Guzzetta.

Louis Rousseau

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. 
Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville for Louis Jules Rousseau, 81, a 
native and resident of Paincourtville, who died Monday, Jan. 1.

Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be in the church Cemetery.
He was the father of Lee Buddy, Gerald, Donald and Raymond Rousseau, Marion 
Landry, Kerda Buckles, Clarice Charlet and Joyce Theriot; brother of Annette 
Samson. He is also survived by many half-brothers and sisters; 26 grandchildren 
and 28 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie LeBIanc Rousseau; parents, Dufosard 
and Melodia Richard Rousseau; and a brother, Melvin Rousseau.

Raceland for Elenoise C. Alexander, 58, a native of Raceland and resident of 
Houma, who died Tuesday, Jan. 2. 

Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. today at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland and 5 
to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Dismissal will be 11 a.m. Monday, and burial will be in Morning Star Baptist 
Church Cemetery in Raceland.

The Rev. Rove Hall will officiate. 

She was the wife of Edward Alexander Sr.; daughter of Evans Charles Sr. of 
Raceland; mother of Edward Alexander Jr., Mary Smith and Yolanda Bias, all of 
Houma, Betty Charles of Dularge, Ella Gray of Raceland and Delphine Bias of 
Gray; sister of Evans Charles Jr. of Houma; stepsister of Eric DeWayne and 
Richard Gray, both of LaPlace. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and one 
great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gustvina Charles; a brother, Thomas 
Charles; and a sister, Mary Lee Charles.

She was a homemaker.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church in Cut Off for Leo J. "Tio" Angelette, 70, a native and resident 
of Cut Off, who died at 5:02 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Burial was in the church Cemetery.

He was the husband of Florence Soudelier Angelette; son of Olivier Angelette; 
father of Russell, Gerald, Ricky and Chris Angelette; stepfather of Jeffery, 
Johnny, Steve, Joyce and Herbert Dubois Jr., Trucella Kraemer, Stella Borne, 
Catherine Delatte and Evelyn France; brother of Olivia "Tut" Lefort, Vergis 
Pitre, Theresa LeVasseur, Irma Dupont, Doris Begneaud and Audrey Veazey. He is 
also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 step-grandchildren.one great-grandchild 
and nine step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Netlia Autin Angelette; mother, 
Nolia Terrebonne Angelette; and a step-grandchild.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary in Larose.

John Lee

A funeral is scheduled for 8 p.m. today at Williams and Southall Funeral Home in 
Thibodaux for John Lee, 71, a native and resident of Thibodaux.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and 8 to 11 a.m. at 
Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux.

Dismissal will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Moses Baptist Church, and burial will be 
in the church cemetery.

He was the brother of Paul Lee of Los Angeles, Lloyd Lee of Palm Springs, 
Calif., Reginald Lee of Bakersfield, Calif., James, Roland and Eva Mae Lee, 
Doris Cole and Ertha Rhodes, all of Thibodaux, and Gerald Lee of Baton Rouge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Lee and Bertah Johnson Lee; and 
a brother, Armstead Lee.

Benoit Robichaux

Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie for Benoit Robichaux, 93, a native and 
resident of Vacherie, who died Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at the church.

Burial will be in the church Cemetery.

He was the husband of Marie Inett Schexnayder Robichaux. He is also survived by 
18 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lovince and Amelia Robichaux; and a 
brother, Floreston Robichaux.

Buddy St. Amant dies Tuesday

Sherrial T. "Buddy" St. Amant, 58, who was one of three Thibodaux Police 
officers shot while making an arrest on Mardi Gras night 1980, died at 9:05 p.m. 
Tuesday.

St. Amant had been battling cancer for the past year.

St. Amant was shot in the shoulder while trying to arrest Welmon Pharagood at 
the Godfather of Soul Lounge in Thibodaux on Feb. 19, 1980.He never fully 
recovered from his wound. He was later dismissed from the department. He later 
filed legal claims against the city and the Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office to 
try to get a job in law enforcement.

St. Amant, who served in the Marine Corps, boxed as an amateur under the name 
Buddy Rousso and helped to train young boxers at the Thibodaux Recreation 
Center.

He served with the Thibodaux Police Department from February 1968 to April 1969 
and from January 1979 to December 1983.

A religious service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Landry's Funeral Home in 
Thibodaux for St. Amant, a native of Gretna and resident of Thibodaux.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Chacahoula.

He was the companion of Barbara Boudreaux; father of Marty St. Amant Guidry and 
Joab St. Amant; brother of Mrs. Lee "Flo" LeBlanc and Marvin "Butch" St. Amant; 
and stepbrother of Kenny Clement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bridget Benoit Clement St. 
Amant.

Catholic Church in Chachoula for Hazel Barras Boudreaux, 85, a native of 
Raceland and resident of Donner, who died Wednesday, Jan. 3.

funeral time Friday at the church.

Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.

She was the mother of Calvin P. Boudreaux and Bobbie La Rose; sister of Selma 
Marie Hebert. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester G. Boudreaux Sr.; parents, 
Alcee and Anna Portier Barras; a son, Chester Boudreaux Jr.; and two brothers, 
Walden and Harold Barras.

She was the wife of Leonard Z. "Bee" Boudreaux; mother of Michael L., John E. 
and Daniel Boudreaux; sister of Ella Bergeron, Annette Blanchard and Genevieve 
Bouterie. She is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Cecile Rodrigue Blanchard; 
two brothers, Eugene and Ernest "JR" Blanchard; three sisters, Mrs. Irving 
(Irene) Arceneaux, Jeanne Blanchard and Mrs. George (Laura) Bergeron; and a 
grandson. John Z. Boudreaux.
