A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's 
Nativity Church in Raceland for Mabel Ponson Rivere, 92, a native of Plattenville 
and resident of Raceland, who died at 4:10 a.m. today. April 1.

Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. today and 7 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at 
Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland.

Interment will be in the church mausoleum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses Rivere; parents, Lucille 
Cedatol and Fernand Ponson; a brother, Isley Ponson; and two sisters, Hazel 
Bossier and Rose Matherne.

She was a parishioner of St Mary's and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.

Galliano for John Alfred Hodge, 31, a native and resident of Galliano, who died at 
1:56 a.m. Tuesday, April 2.

He was the husband of Crystal Pitre Hodge; son of Joseph and Alice Duet Hodge; 
father of Heidi Alaina Hodge; brother of JoAnn H. Williford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Jean Sr. and Marie Landry

resident of St. Charles community, who died Tuesday, April 2.

Margaret Toups. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Sidney, Wiltz and Gillis Theriot; a sister, Lucia Breaux; a grandchild; and a

survived by one brother.

She was the wife of Lucien J. Verdin; daughter of Vernice Martin Ayo; mother of 
Ryan J. Verdin and Darrell P. Breaux; sister of Robert J. Ayo. She is also

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Avery and Ida Suire and John

He was a 1995 graduate of Patterson High School where he was a member of the

Civic activist Breaux dies of caner Monday

Marie Campisi Breaux, 59, a longtime business and civic activist, died of 
cancer Monday.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux 
and 8 until funeral time Wednesday at St. Joseph Co-cathedral. A Mass of 
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial is in the 
church cemetery.

Breaux was active in several community organizations.

She was a member of the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce for eight years, where 
she served six years on the board of directors and was in charge of all fund-
raising events, chamber Director Denise Gaudet said.

"She was a great volunteer and there are a lot of things we couldn't have done 
without her," Gaudet said. "She was a great asset to the community."

Breaux was a board member on the Lafourche-Assumption Chapter of the American 
Red Cross for seven years. She was the fund-raising chairman for six years.

"She was a person with a lot of enthusiasm for the projects she took on." Red 
Cross Director Murray Dennis, said.

"She was very giving and very creative in looking for solutions to problems 
that different organizations ran into and she had a real gift for getting to 
the heart of a situation and finding answers."

"She was also a very close friend and this community is going to miss her very 
much," Dennis said. "She was a terrific lady."

Breaux, a native of Houston and resident of Thibodaux, was the wife of David 
Breaux; mother of Roxane Molaison of Pensacola. Fla., David Breaux Jr. of 
Boynton Beach, Fla., Frank Breaux of Pensacola, Fla., Patrick Breaux of 
Lockport and Michael Breaux of Thibodaux; and sister of Joseph and Frank 
Campisi. She is also survived by five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Musso Campisi.

Breaux owned The Linen Mill Etc. which opened in 1980 in downtown Thibodaux.

"She did lots of volunteer work when she closed her business," her daughter, 
Roxane Molaison, said.

"Some of my favorite memories were summer vacation in Grand Isle," Molaison 
said. "We usually took a week's vacation during the summers."

Breaux was named the American Business Women's Association Woman of the Year in 
1988 because she was an outstanding woman within the community. She also served 
as president for the group in 1987-88.

She served three years on the Commission on Women and was co-chairman of the 
decorating committee for the Bayou Junior Women's Club this year.

"She just did so much for other people, all the time," Molaison said. "She was 
a very giving person. If ever you needed anything she was always there."

Breaux also liked to work in crafts. Molaison remembers her mother making 
elaborate masks from papier-mache.

"Marie was so optimistic about everything," said Laura Badeaux, a member of the 
American Business Women Association and Bayou Junior Women's Club.

"In the wake of what appeared to be a fatal disease she was always optimistic, 
yet she was very straightforward and honest when ever she expressed herself, be 
it on her condition or whatever recent project she was working on." Badeaux 
said.

"She was a very passionate person in everything that she did and was very 
diligent in whatever she deemed to be her duties." she said. "Probably the most 
important thing was her generosity towards others."

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Holy Savior 
Catholic Church in Lockport for Theresa Sevin Chapman, 48, a native of Lockport 
and resident of Mathews, who died Monday, April 8 as a result of an automobile 
accident.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was the wife of Gerald Chapman; mother of Chad, Scott, Christina, Tina and 
Sadie Chapman, Mercy Eschete and Jessica Curole; stepmother of Gerald Jr., and 
Bryan Chapman; sister of Richard Dominique. She is also survived by eight 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia Sevin and Eddie Boudreaux.

She was a parishioner of Holy Savior and an employee of Maison DeVille Nursing 
Home.

She was the mother of E-Jay and Veneda Doucet, Enola Dufrene, Madeline Marsden 
and Annette Bourg; sister of Louis "Beto" Eymard and Mathilde E. Savoie. She is 
also survived by nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ludwig Doucet; parents, Duard and 
Vena Pitre Eymard; a son, Warren Doucet; two brothers, Orleans and Emile 
Eymard; and a sister, Romanda E. Guidry. 

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Cut Off and a lifetime 
member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Rosary 
Church in Larose for Epifania (Fanny) Cervantes Rosas, 75, a native of 
Brownsville, Texas and a resident of Larose, who died Monday, April 29.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. to funeral time 
Thursday.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was the mother of Eduardo (Eddie) B. Rosas and Amalia (Molly) Rosas; the 
sister of Guadalupe, Adrian Benito and Jose Humberto Rivera, Ana Maria 
Marteniz, Anjelita Aguirre, Maria Antonia Montez and Margarita Bolderas; the 
grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 16.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eduardo Rosas; parents Pablo Cervantes 
and Margarita Gonzales Cervantes, daughter Rosa G. Garza, brother, Primitivo 
Cervantes and sister Joseea Cianeros.

She was the sister of Olevia Harris, Bertha McBride, Albert Johnson, Royal

Church in Larose for Nola Lerille Danos, 96, a native of Galliano and a resident 
of Cut Off, who died at 6:45 Tuesday, April 30.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off.

She was the mother of Dan and John Danos, Rita Callais and Shirley Balser; the 
sister of one, the grandmother of 18, the great-grandmother of 30 and the 
great-great-grandmother of two.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donatien Danos, parents Edgar and 
Ernestine Orgeron Lerille, three brothers and two sisters.
