A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland 
for Priscilla Johnson, 66, a native of Raceland and resident of Houma, who died 
at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Aug. l.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to Funeral time Thursday at the Funeral home.

Burial will be in Morristown Cemetery in Raceland.

The Rev. Leonard Celestine will officiate.

She was the mother of Samuel Johnson of Norfolk, Va., Roland Johnson of 
Raceland and Patricia Johnson of Thibodaux. She is also survived by six 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ceceile and William Johnson Sr.; and 
three brothers, William Jr., James and Wallace Johnson.

She was a member of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church in Montegut for Melton "Mel" J. Nelton, 62, a native of 
Terrebonne Parish and resident of Montegut, who died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 
1.

Visitation is from 2-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at 
the church. Burial is in the church cemetery.

He was the companion of Mary Verrett; father of Melton J. Nelton Jr., Timothy J. 
Nelton, Keith J. Nelton, Ronald Nelton, Joann Forrest, Sandra Nettleton, 
Rosalind Nelton and Christine Soltis; brother of Robert, Elmore and Alley 
Nelton, Marie Lasotta and Lena Thibodaux. He is also survived by nine 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Matherne Nelton; parents, Alvin 
and Uzelia Lebeouf Nelton; brother, Abbey Nelton; and sister, Irene Nelton.

Raphael (Genevieve) Bouterie of Mobile, Ala.

Blanchard; two brothers, Eugene and Ernest Blanchard Jr.; and four sisters, 
Jeanne Blanchard, Irene B. Arceneaux, Laura B. Bergeron and Marguerite B.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He was the lifelong companion of Enola Hanson; brother of Gerald L. LeBlanc, 
Shirley L. Mayet, Marion L. Malbrough, Betty Lou L. Toups and Vivian L. Toups.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton John Sr. and Odette Benoit 
LeBlanc; and two brothers, Harold and Kenneth LeBlanc.

He was the husband of Dolores Orgeron Boudreaux; father of Ida LeBlanc; brother 
of Norby Boudreaux, Bernice Riche and Noelie Pitre. He is also survived by five 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lovincy and Ida Bourgeois Boudreaux; a 
son, Billy Boudreaux; three brothers, Julien, Ivy and Volney Boudreaux; and a

8 a.m. to Funeral time Tuesday at the church.

She was the mother of Joseph "J.P" Hidalgo, Betty Clement and Jean Bergeron, 
all of Thibodaux, Mrs. Alan (Joan) Dunbar of DeRidder and Mrs. Eddie (Loretta) 
Evans Jr. of Houma. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 18 great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alcee "Scant" Hidalgo; parents, Joseph 
and Victorine Talbot; and three sisters, Marie Boudreaux, Necie Sonier and 
Annette Talbot.

She was a member of Mount Zion and served on the Deaconess Board and was a

Opelousas for Noah Philogene Guedry, 92, a resident of Opelousas, who died at 
4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8.

He was the husband of Winona Anne Chauffe Guedry of Opelousas; father of Mrs. 
Robert (Dorothy) Pyle of Raceland and Mrs. Glyn (Bessie) Durio of Opelousas; 
brother of Earl Guedry Sr. and Lucille Guedry Moore, both of Opelousas, and 
Gladys Salathe of New Orleans. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 
one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noe' J. and Cecelia Rodrigue Guedry; a 
number of siblings; and his first wife, Bessie Dorothy Pearce Guedry.

He was a charter member of the National Livestock and Meat Board, a life member 
of Les Amis Acadine and the last president of the LSU Ole War Skule. He was 
active in contracting, engineering and agriculture since 1927.

He was the husband of Thais Kraemer of Des Allemands; father of Robert Price of 
Bayou Gauche and Edward and Leonard Price, both of Des Allemands. He is also 
survived by three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Sr. and Celina Babin Price; a 
daughter, Jeanine Price; three brothers, Joseph Jr., Lawrence and Melvin Price; 
three sisters, Florence Jergens, Verna Reese and Winona Guidry; and a grandchild.

He was a parishioner of St. Gertrude and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 
No. 2409, American Legion Post 0316 of Paradis, V.F.W. Post 3750 of Luling and a 
charter member of the Lions Club of Des Allemands-Paradis. He was an employee of 
Otto Candies with 49 years of service and a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World 
War II.

Severin "Joe" Plaisance; and a grandchild.

He was a parishioner of St. Hilary and owner of Wallace & Raoul Inc. Restaurant and 
Bar for 30 years. He was a resident of New Orleans for 56 years.

Houma hospital chaplain dies

Kilian Edward Huber

HOUMA - The Rev. Kilian Edward Huber, 63, who devoted his life to God, and most 
recently to the sick and dying patients at Terrebonne General and Leonard 
Chabert medical centers in Houma, died Thursday (Aug 15)morning

Huber was found dead in his room at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma, sitting 
in his chair.

He had spent the previous day, his day off, as he always had in New Orleans, 
visiting friends and especially the Daughters of St. Paul Bookstore, where he was 
a well-known customer.

"He basically was rather shy and yet had a great compassion for the elderly," 
said, the Rev. Curt Lenzrath, a fellow Franciscan. "He could listen to people 
who were older, and the little people, and the poor."

Huber served for the past three years as a chaplain at Terrebonne General and 
Leonard J. Chabert medical centers.

It was a job that often required Huber to be available at all hours, sometimes 
being called away in the middle of the night to administer final rites.

Kim Bourque, director of community relations at Terrebonne General, said Huber's 
service was invaluable to the center.

"Any hospital needs to have a good chaplain so that when patients and families of 
patients need to have someone to sort through what happened, they can turn to a 
priest or religious person, and so often a priest is one of the best people to do 
that," Bourque said.

Huber led a life of routine, with little fuss.

"He wasn't a front office type of guy, and he wasn't one who liked the limelight 
and all that," Lenzrath said.

"He did what he had to do, and did it quietly."

In addition to his skills as a listener and servant of people - his favorite 
mission was serving among the Pueblo Indians. Huber had sizeable memory, 
remembering people and places he had not seen for years.

A prodigious writer, and receiver, of letters, Huber corresponded constantly with 
people of his past.

"His correspondence was twice as much as anyone else," Lenzrath said, "because he 
answered. That was the secret."

Born in Cincinnati on June 17, 1933, Huber spent his young years in Catholic 
schools. From there he began his training to become a Franciscan friar, attending 
St. Francis High School Seminary, Duns Scotus College and St. Leonard. He 
professed his vows Aug. 16, 1952 and was ordained a priest eight years later.

Huber served many ministries ranging from the upper peninsula of Michigan to South 
Louisiana, serving once at St. Mary of the Angels in New Orleans.

His funeral was held this morning at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma. Burial 
was in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Huber of Cincinnati, Ohio; and sister, 
Margaret Huber of Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Catherine Weigand Huber.
