A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Tuesday at Christ the 
Redeemer Catholic Church for Elvire Guillot Barrilleaux, 94, a native and 
resident of Thibodaux, who died Sunday, Sept. 1.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to Funeral time Tuesday at the church.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

She was the mother of Beatrice Legleu, Shirley Hebert and Lois Arceneaux; sister 
of Eileen Leonard; grandmother of 16; great-grandmother of 25; and great-great-
grandmother of two.

She was preceded in death by her husband Murphy Paul Barrilleaux; parents 
Theophile Guillot and Armentine Maronge; son Charles Barrilleaux; grandson 
Michael Legleu; great-grandson Justin Hebert; five brothers; and three sisters.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church in Galliano for Calvin Joseph Bourg, 72, a native of Cut Off and 
resident of Galliano, who died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1.

Burial will be in the church Cemetery.

He was the husband of Lola Eymard Bourg; father of Leroy Jack and Carl James Bourg 
and Janice Marie Boudreaux; brother of Gary and Kerry Bourg, Lillie Mae Sorbert, 
Eula Mae Degruise, Romona Charpentier, Janellen Legier and Emelia Guilbeau. He is 
also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Donita Theriot Bourg; a 
sister, Malone Bourg; and two brothers, Bobby and Donatien Bourg.

Catholic Church in Galliano for Vendon Joseph Collins Sr., 73, a native of Golden 
Meadow and resident of Galliano, who died Sunday, Sept. 1.

Burial will be in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

He was the husband of Gertie Brunet Collins; father of Vendon Joseph Collins Jr., 
Barbara Angelette, Susan Cheramie and Beverly St. Pierre; brother of Ignace and 
Olaine Collins, Louella Pitre, Lournise Charpentier, Evelyn Thibodaux, Melda 
Guidry, Mildred Doucet, Judica Savoie and Elaine Bergeron; 11 grandchildren; and 
three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Philozate and Theresa Gaspard Collins; 
brother, Louman Collins; and sister, Vivian Callahan.

He was a member of the U.S. Army and a veteran of World War II.

of Raceland, who died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2.

Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland and 8 
to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.

She was the mother of Mrs. George (Linda) Eschette and Mrs. Leroy (Sybil) 
Schouest; sister of Felix Mire and Amy M. Foret. She is also survived by four, 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude J. Bourgeois Jr.; parents, 
Seraphin and Clelie Zeringue Mire; a brother, Ilson Mire; and three sisters, 
Theotile M. Diaz, Blanche M. Diaz and Enola M. Knight.

A Funeral is scheduled for 8 p.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church in 
Raceland for Warren Chisley Sr., 82, a native and resident of Raceland, who died 
at 6:40 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Dismissal will be 11 a.m. Saturday, and burial will be in Morning Star Baptist 
Church Cemetery.

The Rev. Leonard Celestine will officiate.

He was the father of John, Carolyn and Gail Chisley, Sedonia Smith, Gloria 
Joseph, Delores Wyatts and Beverly Howard, all of Raceland, Waren Chisley Jr. of 
Gibson, Mary Gray of LaPlace and Charlie Chisley of New Orleans; brother of 
Hester Piper and Rosie Chisley, both of New Orleans. He is also survived by 28 
grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Hogan Chisley; parents, Charlie Sr. 
and Sedonia Polk Chisley; two brothers, Sterling Chisley and Joseph Polks; and 
four sisters, Olivia Polks Hester, Ethel Polks Williams, Ida Polks Robinson and 
Pearley Polks Hawkins.

He was a member of Mount Zion and a retired laborer with Raceland Sugar Mill and 
Raceland Lumber and Concrete Co. He enjoyed gardening and yard work.

She was the daughter of Marie DuBois Labit Breaux of Raceland; stepdaughter of 
Lawrence J. Breaux of Raceland; mother of Patricia Ann "Pat," Laura and Jo Anne 
Lajaunie, all of Houma; stepmother of Mrs. David (Barbara) Baudean of Houma; 
sister of Leon J. Jr., Francis J. and Phillip J. Labit and Betty Labit Steele, 
all of Houma, Davis J., Ralph J. and Joseph J. Labit, all of Bayou Blue; Larry 
P. Labit of Gray and Roy J. Labit of Arkansas. She is also survived by three 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leon P. Labit; a son, Michael 
Lajaunie; and a brother, Johnny Labit.

She was secretary with Chauvin Funeral Home for 40 years.

Church in Galliano for Frank Francis Naquin, 87, a native of Terrebonne Parish 
and resident of Lafourche Parish, who died at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2.

Visitation will be 6 to 11 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano and 8 
a.m. to Funeral time Thursday at the church.

Burial will be in Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Larose.

He was the husband of Hilda Williams Naquin for 64 years; father of Richard, 
Wilton, Boudreaux and the Rev. Earl Naquin, Ester Terrebonne and Laura Billiot; 
half-brother of Augustine "Tony" Dardar. He is also survived by 23 
grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Desere and Elizabeth Dardar Naquin; a 
son, Lester Naquin; two brothers, Andrea and Adam Naquin; three sisters, 
Colestie and Marie Naquin and Alice Dardar; and a half-sister, Augustine 
Dardar.

He was an elder of the United Houma Nation and was named honorary chief of the 
Houma tribe. He was instrumental in organizing the Houma people in their 
beginning efforts toward federal recognition.

Nativity Church in Raceland for Timmy Charles Martin, 25, a native and resident 
of Lockport, who died Tuesday, Sept. 3.

He was the son of Cora Arceneaux Peters and Buvis Martin; stepson of Norris 
Peters Sr.; father of Brittany Nicole and Ashley Lynn Martin; brother of Lisa 
Ann Cheramie, Cindy Marie Martin, Crystal and Norris Peters Jr.; grandson of 
Fred Martin.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Verna Lirette Martin and Willis 
and Earline Blanchard Arceneaux.

Labadieville for Harrison "Shorty" Sanders, 84, a native and resident of 
Labadieville, who died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Thibodaux Regional 
Medical Center.

He was the father of Gennie Vee and Gloria Dean Williams and Ora Lee Thomas, 
all of Thibodaux; brother of Annie Mae Johnson, Addison Sanders and Alice

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Sanders of Thibodaux; and a 
brother, Herman Helper of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

de Sales Co-Cathedral in Houma for Charles Octave "C.O" Calongne, 79, a native 
of New Orleans and resident of Ollie Steele Burden Manor in Baton Rouge, who 
died Wednesday. Sept 4.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He was the father of Lynn C. Hendry of Zachary, Leslie C. Chauvin and Kenneth N. 
Calongne, both of Baton Rouge, and Don J. and Terry C. Calongne, both of Houma.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae L. Calongne; parents, Marie B. and 
Charles 0. Calongne.

He was a former resident of Houma was a U.S. Army corporal in the 3701 Army Air 
Force Base Unit. He was a former member of the Louisiana State Mineral Board and 
former director of Progressive Bank and Trust.

Donations are preferred to Vandebilt Catholic High School in Houma or Catholic 
High School in Baton Rouge.

church in Bayou Gauche for Richard J. "R.J." Frickey Sr., 67, a native of Des 
Allemands and resident of Paradis, who died at 10:55 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5.

Burial was in Sunset Cemetery in Bayou Gauche.

He was the wife of Eva Adams Frickey; father of Lloyd "L.J." and Richard Frickey 
Jr.; brother of Eugene and Edgar Frickey and Fannie Keller. He is also survived 
by five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Pauline Dufrenia Frickey; 
and a grandchild, Tabitha J. Frickey.

Catholic Church in Cut. Off for David Lucien Curole, 66, a native and resident

He was the husband of Beatrice Crosby Curole; father of Sheila, Windell and 
Kindall Curole, Lisa Williams and Deedra Wing; brother of Varice and Willis Curole,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre Luke and Emelie Martin Curole; 
three brothers, Robert, Victor and Edmond Curole; and a sister, Glady Curole.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean 
Conflict. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 8538 of Larose was employed by Crosby 
Tugs for 17 years.

He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales and was a member of St. Vincent de 
Paul Society and the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. He was an insurance 
agent and an accountant.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Hilary of Poitiers 
Catholic Church in Mathews for Adelea "Puts" Landry Robichaux, 80, a native of 
Algiers and resident of Raceland, who died at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29.

She was the mother of Dr. Philip A. Jr., Ronald J. and Dr. Michael Richard 
Robichaux and Anna Helen Shoemaker. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 
11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Philip Alcide Robichaux; parents, 
Louis J. and Anita Brechtel Landry; and a sister, Anna Helen Erny.

She was a parishioner of St. Hilary.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Holy Savior Cemetery in 
Lockport for Ulysse Joseph Adams, 68, a native of Lockport and resident of 
Raceland, who died at 8:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claiborne P. and Isabella A. Adams.

He was a resident of Raceland Manor Nursing Home and was formerly employed as a 
bridge tender with the Louisiana Department of Transportation.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Hargrave Funeral 
Home Chapel in Morgan City for Kirby Wayne Lewis, 28, a native of Morgan City 
and resident of Raceland, who died Monday, Sept. 30.

Burial was in Morgan City Cemetery.

He was the husband of Holly Michelle Griffith Lewis of Raceland; son of Suzanne 
M. Landry of Gibson and George R. Lewis of Bossier City; father of Byron and 
Chase Lewis of Raceland; brother of Jody Lewis of Gibson; step-brother of 
David, Christi and Dawn Lewis, all of Bossier City; grandson of George and Gloria 
Lewis of Liberty, Miss., and Sidney and Hazel Landry of Gibson.

Church in Mathews for Dr. B. Joseph Martin, 90, a native of Bourg and resident 
of Gray, who died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30.

A graveside service is, scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Commack Cemetery in 
Long Island, N.Y.

He was the brother of A.D. Martin Jr. of Gray, Maggie Bergeron of Bourg, Yvonne 
Clark of San Antonio, Texas, and Dorothy Ava Carreker of Houma.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Duryea Martin; parents, Anatole 
and Agnes Matherne Matin Sr.; four brothers, Clyde, Charles Wesley, Robert Lee 
and Herbert Louis Martin; and three sisters, Lucide Cox, Alice Fleming and 
Sylvia Martin.

He was former pastor of Bayou Blue United Methodist, Berwick United Methodist, 
Mathew Memorial United Methodist and First Presbyterian Church of Houma.

Donations to the Salvation Army or MacDonell United Methodist Children's 
Services are preferred.

Vacherie, who died at 6:55 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at Thibodaux Regional Medical 
Center.

Visitation will be 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Interment will be in Our Lady of Peace Mausoleum.

He was the husband of Cecile Webre Miller of Vacherie; father of Mrs. John 
(Carolyn) Veillon and Mrs. Stephen (Juanita) Roussel, both of Vacherie; brother 
of Clarence Miller of Vacherie, Mrs. George (Florence) Weilbert of New Orleans, 
Mrs. James (Dorothy) Lemoine of Kenner, Ralph Miller of Thibodaux and Irving 
Miller of Chackbay. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Lydia Forsyth Miller; and a 
brother, Joseph Miller.

He was a charter member of the Vacherie Volunteer Fire Department and a member 
of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was a P.O.W. in World War II.

She was the wife of Henderson Oliver Jr.; mother of Marion Oliver of 
Donaldsonville, Murphy Oliver of Klotzville, Henderson III and Vernal Oliver, 
both of Dorseyville, Kenneth Oliver of Hawaii and Alton Oliver of Thibodaux; 
sister of Maxine Reed and Cornelius Williams, both of Belle Rose, and Harding 
Williams of Chicago. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 28 great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Caliste and Hester Williams; two 
brothers, Loyal Sr. and Calvin Williams Sr.; and two sisters, Vera W. Dorsey 
and Helen Narcisse.

is also survived by 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Anthony and Octave Dempster Simon; two brothers, Hymel and Jean Simon; and a 
sister, Lillian Simon Sevin.
