A Mass of Christian burial was held Thursday at the St. Andrew' Catholic Church 
in Fort Worth, Texas, for Juliette Charitat Johnson, 85, a native of Thibodaux 
and a resident of Fort Worth, Texas, who died Sunday, Sept. 29, at her home.

Burial was in the Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth.

She was the mother of Barbara M. Johnson and her husband Ralph Rattelmueller of 
Denver, Colo.; grandmother of Julie Rattelmueller; and sister of Maurice and 
Raymond Charitat, both of Thibodaux.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles B. Johnson.

She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Hospital 
Guild.

The family requests memorial donations to Community Hospice of Texas.

Funeral services are scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church 
in Gray for Patricia Ann Pike, 38, a native and resident of Thibodaux, who died 
Monday Sept. 30.

Dismissal services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial 
will take place in the church cemetery.

She was the daughter of Geraldine Heard of Thibodaux; the mother of Sidney Pike 
IV and Alakia Pike of Thibodaux; the sister of Wardell Heard and Tyrone Heard of 
Thibodaux.

She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Heard Jr.; her brothers Joseph 
Heard III and Gerald Heard.

She was a receptionist for Dr. Coleridge Franklin's office in Thibodaux.

A religious service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Falgout Funeral Home 
Chapel in Houma for Snow Harris LeBouef, 79, a native of Stauton, Ala., and 
resident of Baton Rouge, who died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to Funeral time Friday at the Funeral home.

Burial will be in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery in Houma.

She was the mother of Mrs. Walter (Bettye) B. Eastman of Slidell; stepmother of 
Tina Marie and Frank Joseph LeBouef Jr., both of Marrero and Diane Elizabeth 
Ducombs of New Orleans; sister of Wade Harris Jr. of Baton Rouge. She is also 
survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Joseph LeBouef Sr.; parents, 
Wade and Nellie Mae Gandy Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. O.J. Thibodaux and Agatha Celestin; 
four brothers, Oscar J., Earl J., T.F. "Son" and Clarence Thibodaux; and five 
sisters, Irene Prejean, Gertrude Clement, Hazel Dugas, Lena Marks and Vivian 
Dugas.

father of Terry and Brian Bergeron; brother of Jackie and Jimmy Bergeron, Ruth

B. Connor and Robbin B. Carter. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Nellie James Boutan.

He was a retired laborer and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was the husband of Nolia P. Doucet; father of Kenneth Doucet, Barbara Pierron 
and Vivian Thibodaux; brother of Roy Doucet of Lafayette, Richard Doucet, Vivian 
Hebert, Maybelle Raspberry and Betty Monceaux, all of Jennings. He is also 
survived by eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Sr. and Julia Faulk Doucet.

He was a parishioner of Christ the Redeemer and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an 
employee of Amoco Oil Co. for 32 years.

(Geraldine "Geri") Rhodes; sister of Thaddieus Pellegrin, Wilmer Redmond, Ora 
Simpson, Libby Duplantis and Yvonne Cuneo. She is also survived by 19 
grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Fanguy; parents, Milka and 
Aurore Cantrelle Pellegrin; a son, Carroll James Fanguy; a grandson, James 
Carroll Fanguy; three brothers, Essie, East on and Horace Pellegrin; and a 
sister, Vivian Chauvin.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the 
Ladies Altar Society and Catholic Daughters.

He was the father of Louis A. "Buck" Cheramie and Joyce C. Legendre; the 
brother of Enola C. Plaisance. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and

He is preceded in death by his wife Edith Adams Cheramie; his parents Patrick 
and Evetia Ledet Cheramie; his brothers Gustave, Andrew, Perry, Adam and Thomas 
Cheramie; sisters Emelda and Florence Cheramie. He is also preceded in death by 
one grandson.

He was a retired purchasing agent for Bollinger Shipyard and North American 
Shipyard.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 
No. 83 of Lockport.

Lockport alderman dies

Ed Blanchard

Ed Blanchard, Lockport town clerk and alderman, died Friday while on vacation.

Blanchard, 58, was an employee of the Raceland Bank and Trust Co. for 30 years 
before becoming a fixture at the Lockport Town Hall as an alderman in July 1988. 
Blanchard began serving as town clerk Dec. 1, 1990.

He was re-elected to his seat on the Board of Aldermen in September and would 
have begun his third term in office.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Savior 
Catholic Church in Lockport. Visitation is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. 
Wednesday at the church. Burial is in the church mausoleum.

An autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death. Family and friends 
suspect he died from a heart attack or stroke. He had been treated in the past 
for a heart condition.

"My best memory of Ed is of us sitting out on the front lawn just shooting the 
breeze," Paul Champagne, a fellow alderman and Blanchard's next-door neighbor, 
said.

"He was a great person," he said. "He served as both clerk and alderman and did 
a wonderful job at both."

Blanchard was also an exceptional family man, Champagne said. He had four 
children and four grandchildren.

Blanchard was the husband of Annette Triche Blanchard; father of Brett, 
Claudine and Edwin Blanchard Jr. and Andree Adams; and brother of Bunny 
Bollinger, Lois Blanchard and Roy, Shelby, Bobby and Jerry Blanchard. He is also 
survived by four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Agatha Vedros Blanchard.

Another longtime friend, Tony Morvant, said Blanchard was an avid fisherman and 
he spent long hours at his camp.

"I knew Ed more than 30 years," he said. "When I first met him he was married 
already and working at Raceland Bank and Trust Co."

"He was a very honest individual and very good in public office he was also 
very straightforward, likeable and personable."

Fellow Alderman Joe Lusco Jr. served 12 years as an alderman while Blanchard 
served eight.

"I've known Ed all my life," Lusco said. "He was a real close friend and like a 
brother to me."

"I remember when I was a kid, his mother sold tickets at the picture show," 
Lusco said. "I don't remember how I met him really, but I know he always tried 
to help people as much as he could and do as much as he could do for people."

The Lockport Board of Aldermen has called for a special meeting Thursday to 
appoint an interim member and call an election for April 5.

The Board of Aldermen meeting scheduled for today has been re-scheduled to Oct. 
22.

Levee commissioner Gisclair dies

South Lafourche Levee District Commissioner Adam "Ted" Gisclair Jr., remembered 
by his peers for his outspoken manner and devotion to those of the South 
Lafourche area, died suddenly Wednesday morning.

He was 68.

"He was a real stickler," levee district General Manager Windell Curole said.

"To the point (of objecting) if we had too many screw drivers or too many keys 
copied. He was good at watching the pennies even though we spent millions. I 
think he helped the board stay cost conscious and efficient."

Board President Leon Theriot was appointed to the board with Gisclair and calls 
him "an excellent member and conscientious, dependable public servant."

"As an individual he was always very active in community activities," Theriot 
said. "He liked politics and he was the type of person who would help anyone 
within his means. (You knew) what he believed in. He stuck by (his word) and you 
weren't going to buffalo him over. He held his ground."

"I think the South Lafourche area, from a civic standpoint, is going to suffer a 
loss without his endeavors," he said.

Theriot said Gisclair was helping a friend run a water line and out hay in the 
friend's cattle field. He went to the barn and did not return

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church in Galliano. Gisclair, a native and resident of Galliano, died 
at 9:02 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 16, 1996.

Gisclair, a retired seafood dealer who owned Gulf Shrimp and Ice Co., joined 
the board in June 1980 and was the chairman of its finance and boat launch 
committees and a member of the executive committee.

Curole said Gisclair was a no-nonsense kind of commissioner, solely concerned 
with how the district could help the residents of South Lafourche.

"We couldn't even get him to wear a tie," Curole said. "AH he was interested in 
was providing flood protection to the people."

Curole said it was this desire that drove Gisclair in his duties with the 
board.

"The thing is, Ted always liked to be in the know and be involved," he said. "He 
always spoke his ... mind."

Curole said he was also an avid participant in improving the area's drainage 
and even had a joint project with the parish unofficially named after him, 
"Ted's Canal," which improved drainage on the east side of the bayou during the 
mid '80s.

Gisclair was also a former member of the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, a 
former member of the Louisiana Shrimp Association and a member of Lafourche 
Lodge No. 427 Free and Accepted Masons.

Gisclair was the husband of Mabel Toups Gisclair; son of Isabelle A. Gisclair; 
father of Perry J. and Rodney R. Gisclair and Angela Guidry; and brother of 
Herbert and Roland Gisclair, Betty Duet and Nage Galjour. He is also survived 
by three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Adam Gisclair Sr.

Dronet dies at 73 Saturday

Retired Thibodaux Police Capt. Ashton Joseph Dronet Sr., hailed locally for his 
civic activism in and out of the department, died of kidney failure Saturday 
evening. He was 73.

Dronet joined the Thibodaux Police Department in 1961. He worked his way up to 
captain in 1971 and was named outstanding officer of the year for 1974-75. He 
retired from the department in 1978 and joined the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's 
Office for the next 5V4 years. He was given the Key to the City for 1988-89. 
Former Thibodaux Police Chief

Walter Portier remembers Dronet as a tireless law enforcement officer looking 
out for the best interests of the community. Portier worked with Dronet in the 
Thibodaux Police Department for 12 years and a few years with him at the 
Sheriffs Office.

"Ashton has been a long-time friend of mine," Portier recalled. "He was a 
dedicated policeman. He was dedicated to the community as a policeman and he was 
a leader in the law enforcement profession."

Portier said Dronet's work with the Junior Police program and work as shift 
commander was indicative of the active role he took in whatever he was involved 
with - as a police officer and as a citizen.

"He was an outstanding community leader, too," he said. "He just liked people I 
guess. He liked doing things for the community,"

Portier cited Dronet's efforts distributing American flags to schools, 
hospitals and other public and private institutions for the V.F.W.

Dronet was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5097 and served as 
state commander from 1988-89. He was awarded outstanding state commander of the 
year in 1988. He also served as Chef de Gare of the Local 1038, 40 and 8. He was 
also a lifetime member of The Disabled American Veterans and belonged to other 
veteran organizations such as the American Legion and the Military Order of the 
Cooties.

"(Thibodaux residents) are going to miss an outstanding member of the community 
- someone who always wanted to do good for others," Portier said.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. 
Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux for Dronet, 73, a native of Jefferson

Judge Bourg of Houma dies Saturday

HOUMA - Funeral arrangements are scheduled Tuesday for state District Judge 
Baron Belaire Bourg, 65, a native and resident Houma, who died at 5:05 p.m. 
Saturday.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time 
Tuesday, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. 
Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial is in St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery in 
Houma.

Bourg started serving as judge in Terrebonne Parish in July 1967, when Gov. 
John McKeithen appointed him to the 17th Judicial District Court for Terrebonne 
and Lafourche parishes. He was elected without opposition in 1972 and re-elected 
in 1978, 1984 and 1996. He served until illness forced his retirement on Aug. 
14, 1994.

When the court district was divided, he served as judge of Division B of the 
32nd Judicial District, which covers Terrebonne Parish. He served for years as 
the district's chief judge.

He also served as an ad hoc justice on the 1st Circuit Court of Appeal and the 
Louisiana Supreme Court and was a member of the District Judges Association, 
the American Judicature Society, the Terrebonne Parish and American bar 
associations.

Bourg served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He graduated from Terrebonne High 
School and attended Tulane University from 1948 to 1949, the Georgia Military 
Academy from 1949 to 1950 and Loyola University from 1950 to 1953. He received his 
law degree from Loyola Law School.

Bourg is survived by his father, Dr. Otis J. Bourg Jr. of Houma; sons, B. 
Belaire Bourg Jr. of Baton Rouge, and Thomas K. Bourg of Houma; daughter, Susan 
Bourg Tuleu of Houma; brother, Otis J. Bourg Jr. of Houma; sister, Juanita Bourg 
Tucker of New Orleans; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Frances Carroll Bourg; and
