Raceland for Daniel Dickerson, 86, a native of Lockport and resident of 
Raceland, who died at 12:35 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 1996.

Burial will be in Morristown Benevolent Cemetery in Raceland.

The Rev. Leonard Celestine will officiate.

He was the husband of Victoria Hadley Dickerson of Raceland; brother of Junius 
Brown of San Francisco.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Vallie Smith Dickerson; a 
brother, Charles Dickerson; and three sisters, Maime Broussard, Helen Thomas 
and Mable Morris.

A religious service is scheduled or 8 p.m. today at Bell Baptist Church in 
Raceland for Olivia Shelby, 93, a native and resident of Raceland who died at 
3:10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 1996.

Dismissal will be 11 a.m.

Tuesday, and burial will be in the church Cemetery.

The Rev. Elvin Lacey will officiate.

She is survived by 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Smith; second husband, 
Earl Shelby; parents, Herbert Colbert and Virginia Pierce; a daughter, Celinia 
Smith Wilder; a son, the Rev. Herbert Smith Sr.; and a grandson, Melvin Wilder

She was a member of Bell Baptist.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. to day at Westside Funeral 
Home in Marrero for Lula Tabor, 80, a resident of Wynhoven Apartments for the 
past eight years, who died at 10:55 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 1996, at West Jefferson 
Hospital.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

She was the mother of Dudley, Butler Sr., Philip and Earl Tabor, Catherine 
Hebert and Dale Martin; sister of Lulia Ordoyne and Tenny Hebert. She is also 
survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rubin Tabor; parents, Cleve and 
Bertha Ordoyne Hebert; and a brother, Delaune Hebert.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Little Flower of 
Jesus Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Texas, for Irene Marie Clement. 76. a 
native of Lafourche Parish and resident of Port Arthur, who died Sunday, Nov. 3, 
1996 at Mid-Jefferson Hospital in Nederland, Texas.

Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. Texas.

She was the mother of Norma Ann Benjamin of Port Arthur; sister of Gladys Gros, 
Rita Clement and Raymond, Gerald, Larry and Tom E. Hebert Jr., all of Thibodaux, 
Alton Hebert of Glendora, Calif., and Herman Hebert of San Point, Idaho. She is 
also survived by three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman "Man" Clement; a son, Norman 
Clement Jr.; and parents, Elphage and Modest Oncale Hebert.

She was a parishioner of Little Flower of Jesus and the Altar Society.

in Golden Meadow for Johness J. Hunter, 69, a native of Golden Meadow and 
resident of Cut Off, who died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 1996.

Burial will be in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

He was the husband of Mary Gisclair Hunter; father of Jake and Tina Hunter, 
Nellie Matherne, Connie Guidry and Stacy McCullough; brother of Bertha Pecanty 
and Dave and Huey Hunter. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr. and Eliza St. Pierre Hunter; 
a sister, Eva Smith; two brothers, Walter Jr. and Robert Hunter; and a 
grandchild, Angela Harrington.

He was a member of First United Methodist of Golden Meadow and a 32nd degree 
member of Masonic Lodge No. 427. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

survived by seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Henry Heim Sr.; and three 
brothers, Harold, Arthur and William Heim.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 
585. He was also president of the Brothers and Sisters Burial Society. He was a 
skilled carpenter and a retired employee of Glennwood Coop, of Napoleonville.

He was the father of Dr. Joel J. Comeaux of Houma and Clarence H. Comeaux Jr. 
of Thibodaux; brother of Marie Louise Bonck of Bay St. Louis, Miss., L.J. Jr., 
Lorimer, Lloyd and Roland Comeaux, all of Larose, and Lionel Comeaux of New 
Orleans. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Lee Comeaux; parents, Louis and Anna 
Hotard Comeaux; two daughters, Delores Comeaux and Joy LeBlanc; three brothers, 
Horace, Ernest and Eugene Comeaux; and two sisters, Annabell Birthlot and 
Theresa Barrow.

He was a parishioner of Holy Savior and a 4th Degree Knight with Knights of 
Columbus Council of Lockport. He was a retired realtor.

Burial was in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Napoleonville.

She was the wife of Lester P. Falterman; mother of Partick "Buddy," Anthony 
"Tony," Timothy and Chester Falterman and Eleanor F. Talbot; sister of Rita L. 
Warehime. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Victoria Oncale LeBlanc; an infant 
son; and a sister, Levie LeBlanc Faciane.

Aubrey J. Naquin
Bayou Blue educator dies Friday

Aubrey J. Naquin, 81, an educator in Lafourche Parish schools for 36 years, 
including 13 years as principal of Bayou Blue Elementary, died Friday, Nov. 8, 
1996.

Naquin, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Bayou Blue, also served as 
supervisor of elementary education in the Lafourche Parish public school 
system.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. today at St. Louis Catholic 
Church in Bayou Blue. Interment was in the church mausoleum.

He was the husband of Lillian Thibodaux Naquin; and brother of Sister Lucy 
Naquin, Mrs. Moise (Elaine) Vicknair, and Francis and Gibbons Naquin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Davis J. Naquin; sisters, 
Mrs. Julius (Hazel) Arceneaux, Rita Naquin and Mrs. Carl (Pauline) Bourgeois; 
and brothers, Lionel Sr. and Jack Naquin Sr.

Friends and family recall that he and his wife Lillian were a driving force in 
the Bayou Blue community who inspired students to continue their education.

Mr. and Mrs. Naquin spearheaded the Bayou Blue American Red Cross drive for many 
years.

He held a professional membership in Phi Delta Kappa's Bayou Chapter 1100 and was 
a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1114 in Thibodaux and the Judge A.J. 
Caillouet Council, fourth degree Knights of Columbus. He was a longtime member of 
the Thibodaux Young Men's Benevolent Association, the Lions Club, the Raceland 
Fire Department's Grand Marshal Club and the Lafourche Parish Chamber of 
Commerce.

He was a charter member of the Bayou Blue Senior Citizens Club and a retired 
member of local and national teacher organizations.

Donations to Bayou Blue Elementary School are preferred.
