He was the husband of Hilda Landeche; father of Jackie Cisarone of Gainesville, 
Fla., Judith Abel of Franklin, N.C., Ernest Amedee Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fla., 
and Sharon Courson of Belle Glade, Fla.; brother of Laurent Amedee of Houma, 
Whitney Amedee of Luling, Gerald Amedee of Gretna, Monsignor Francis Amedee of 
Thibodaux, Carmen Bourgeois of Harvey, Evelyn Zeringue of Donaldsonville and 
Shirley Crocker of Kenner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambroise and Floresca Waguespack 
Amedee; and three brothers, Clifton, Nolan and Norman Amedee.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of 
Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie for Joseph Earl Narcisse, 77, a native and 
resident of Vacherie, who died at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at the church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was the father of Donald J., Eddie E., Alfred J., Calvin J., Ricky J., Darryl 
and Madeline Narcisse, Victoria Mallet, Alice Thomas, Audrey Oubre and Linda 
Martinez; brother of Wilbert Narcisse and Elsie Clayton.  He is also survived by 
38 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian Narcisse and Anita Saul; a 
sister, Anita Dumas; and four brothers, Swifton, London, Joseph and Clifton 
Narcisse.

Irving Bergeron

A Mass of Christian burial was scheduled to be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. today at 
the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home in New Orleans for Irving Joseph 
Bergeron, 78, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Kenner, who died at 3:30 
p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997 at his residence.

Burial will be in St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery.

He was the husband of Odette Guidry Bergeron; father of Priscilla Craig, Gail B. 
Otto, Gina Clark and Irving Jr., Wayne, Robert, and Thomas Bergeron; brother of 
Lucien and Charles Bergeron, Doris Perdue, Anna Mae Babin, Marian Mixon and 
Evelyn Burrough.  He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Bergeron; a brother, Alvin Bergeron; 
and a sister, Coralee Tassin.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.

Nativity Church in Raceland for Simon Columbus Folse, 74, a native and resident 
of Raceland, who died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997.

Visitation will be 5 to 11 p.m. today and 7:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at 
Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was the father of Donald, Charles, Allen, Ronald, Rickey and Timmy Folse, 
Gwen Foret, Judy Badeaux, and Amy Porche; brother of Hamilton, Ernest and Wilson 
Folse.  He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Schoen Folse; parents, Columbus and 
Elvina Melancon Folse; a son, Terry Folse; and a brother Lawrence Folse.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and V.F.W. of Raceland.

He was the son of Alice Hebert Lefort; brother of Albert J., Wilmith J., Alex 
J., Rickey J. and Williams J. Lefort, Carol Kereses and Carolyn Bernard.

and Samuel Lefort.

He was the husband of Vergis Angelette Pitre; father of Tommy D. and Anthony 
Pitre, Mary Evans and Charlotte Desormeaux; brother of Jefferson Pitre, Elvida 
Dufrene, Willie Mae Duet and Nola Bruce.  He is also survived by seven 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fedless and Loridia Doucet Pitre.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Edna Guidry Vedros; four

Gracie Davis, all of New Orleans.  She is also survived by 24 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Morris; parents Cleveland and 
Flavia Hogan; two brothers, Eugene and Edward Hogan; and three sisters, Edna 
Chisley, Dorothy Gale and Aretha Charles.

She was a homemaker.

great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd J. Falgourst; parents, Aurelien 
and Evelie Becnel Schexnayder; two brothers, Denis and Fernand Schexnayder; and 
one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis N. Boudreaux; a brother, Harold 
Bourgeois; and a grandson, Timothy Paul Rivet.

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart and was retired from the East Baton Rouge 
Parish School System Food Service.

for Herman V. Herring, 86, a native of Huffines, Texas, and resident of 
Lafayette, who died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 
Bertrand Drive, Lafayette.

He was the husband of 60 years of Maurine Chandler Herring; father of Beth 
Knight of Lafayette and Diane Thomas of Apopka, Fla.  He is also survived by 
five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was a former resident of Raceland, Ida and Ruston and was retired from Exxon 
with 30 years of service in various locations in Southeast Louisiana and 
Arkansas.  He enjoyed gardening.  He held membership in the Masonic Order and 
served as elder of the Raceland Presbyterian Church.

Donations to the United Methodist Church of Convent, 300 E. Martial, Lafayette, 
LA 70508 are preferred.

He was the husband of Alma Zbinden Zimmerman; father of Judith Z. Thorne Musick 
and Martha Jane Z. Jackson.  He is also survived by two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave Zimmerman and Louise Romback.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alcide and Edna Robichaux Cortez; a

She was a long-time teacher with the Lafourche Parish School Board.

He was the son of John Jene and Eula Josephine Adams Savoie; father of Tiffany 
Nichole Savoie; brother of Keith Savoie of Lockport and Joanne and Pattie

He was the husband of Merrell Elaine Tucker Chauvin; father of David II., 
Francis Tucker and Stephen Arthur Chauvin, Mrs. Fred (Stephanie Ann) Mayer and 
Mrs. Russel (Merrell Elaine) Authement, all of Houma; brother of Mack Chauvin 
and Elsie C. Smith, both of Houma, Morgan Chauvin of New Orleans and Leona C. 
Roberts of Atlanta.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-
grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Virginia Bergeron Chauvin.

He was a prominent Houma real estate agent and former president of the Bayou 
Board of Realtors.  He served as a captain in the U.S. Army medical corps during 
World War II and returned to Houma soon after the war.  He founded Chauvin Real 
Estate Agency and the Houma Credit Bureau in the early 1950's.  He became a 
prominent figure in the Houma-Terrebonne real estate community, helping to found 
the Bayou Board of Realtors.  He served as president in 1964 and was a member of 
the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.  He was a parishioner of St. Bridget 
Catholic Church.
