"His family brought him home to be buried in the community he loved," said his son Craig Melancon. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Thibodaux Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. She was an honorary member and adviser since its founding in 1992 to the Nu Alpha Epsilon Honor Society for non traditional students. Ayo was a charter member of MacDonell United Methodist Children's Services, founder and president of Lajenuesse Home Demonstration Club and a founding member of Patrons of the Arts in Galliano. She was also involved in fundraising for E.D. White Catholic High School, Cystic Fibrosis, the American Heart Association, United Way, Boy Scouts and Catholic Charities. She chaired the Tri-Parish Volunteer Activist Gala in 1986. She was the wife of Dr. Donald J. Ayo; mother of Christopher and Allison Ayo; daughter of Theresa G. Cheramie; and sister of Teddy J.
