She lived in Thibodaux for the last two years with her niece Evelyn Delery Duncan. Burial was at the All Saints Mausoleum in Lake Lawn Cemeteries in Metairie. She was the aunt of Leo, Roland, Lyle, David, Jean, John Louis, Eugene, Lester Jr., Doro thy and Barbara Jean M. Millet, Carroll J. Delery Jr., Jackie M. Kern, Minette M. Montegut, Carol Vicknair, Gwendolyn M. Lemanier, Thelma M. Carney, Dubs M. Allen and Evelyn Delery Duncan. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jean Ovide Millet and Marie Dwyer; brothers, Leonce, Leo, Louis and Lester Millet; and sisters, Lucille M. Delery, Laura M. Murphy, Lydia Millet, Lolita M. Murphy, Lily Delery and Lena Millet. She was a teacher in St. John Parish for 47 years, having taught for all but one of those years at the Garyville Elementary School. She was a parishioner of St. Hubert Catholic Church in Garyville. She was also a member of the AARP and the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. Donations for masses at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Garyville are preferred. Nola Pitre A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Nola Griffin Pitre, 82, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, who died at 4:44 a.m. Sept. 28, 2000. Burial was at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. She was the wife of Linton B. Pitre; mother of Barbara Pitre Terrebonne; and sister of Lodia Cheramie, Eva Martin and Frances Cheramie. She is also survived by three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tim and Josephine Orgeron Griffin; and sisters, Amelia Perrin and Almena Martin. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
