Daigle Contractors Cleveland and was currently serving on the Lafourche Parish Planning Commission. He was an elder serving on session of the First Presbyterian Church of Bayou Blue. He was retired president of Duval-Whitney-Stevenson Inc. Insurance Agency and was a member of the Independent Agents of Terrebonne and a past president of that organization. He also served for two years on the state executive committee of the Louisiana Association of Insurance Agents. He was also a member of the Terrebonne Parish LSU Alumni Association and a past president of that organization, as well as a member and past president of the Whiskey Pass Silver King Rodeo Association and the Terrebonne Sportsman League. His civic activities include serving on the Terrebonne Parish Parks and Recreation Board for 17 years and five years as its president. He also served for many years on the Terrebonne Parish Jury Commission and the Houma-Terrebonne Regional Planning Commission. On Jan. 19, 1977, he was awarded the Houma Daily Courier Most Useful Citizen's Award. He was a member of the Houma Rotary Club and a past president. He was also a member of the Lennox Hotard Post of the American Legion and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign War. He was also a member of the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, serving on its board of directors and was chairman of its tourist agency committee, and was responsible for establishing the tourist information center for Terrebonne Parish.
