Leroy Bruce Baugh, 47, a native of Grand Isle and resident of Dogris, died May 31, 2001.

He was the boyfriend of Connie Kimbrell; father of Jeremiah Lee and Heather Victoria Baugh; and brother of Frank "Pascal," Vernon, Henry Jr., Eddie and Leon Baugh and Jean Landry. He is also survived by one grandchild. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Frank and Lutie Garrett Baugh, and brother, Charles Baugh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux for Christopher A. Benoit Sr., 41, a native of Thibodaux and resident of the St. Charles Community, who died at 10 p.m. May 31, 2001. 
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home. 
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. 
He was the husband of Lora D. Benoit; son of Clarence and Shirley Lirette Benoit; and father of Christopher A. Benoit Jr. 
He was preceded in death by his sister, Virgie Lee Allemand.

A religious service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Baptist Church at Lafourche Crossing for Pearl Vera Felix Ellis, 75, a native and resident of Thibodaux, who died at 6:00 p.m. May 30, 2001.

She was the mother of Eugene A., Samuel Sr., Leroy and Kevin Sr. and Gwendolyn Ellis, Mary Triggs and Beverly Batiste, all of Thibodaux, and Gregory Ellis of Houma; adopted mother of Katrina Ellis of Thibodaux; and sister of Dorothy Perkins of Jennings, Marion Felix of New Orleans and Ruth Felix and Gloria Walker of Thibodaux. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Ellis; parents, Aaron and Augustine Hampton Felix; sons, Raymond, Kenneth and Donald Ellis; and sister, Thelma Every. 
She served as the treasurer of the usher board at St. Paul Baptist Church. 
She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking.

Marion Miller

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma for Huey Mark "Junior" Breaux Sr., 71, a native of Bayou Black and resident of Houma, who died at 6:30 a.m. June 1, 2001. 
Burial was at St. Anthony Cemetery. 
He was the husband of Claudette Antill Breaux of Houma; father of Huey Mark Breaux Jr., June Breaux Ellender, Shelia Breaux Cenac and Sharon Breaux Bour, all of Houma, and Rebecca Breaux Theriot of Carencro; and brother of Rivers A. Breaux Sr. of Bayou Black, Floyd R. Breaux of Houma and Kate Breaux Holzenthal of Slidell. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. 
He was preceded in death by his pa
rents, Rivers Frederick and Ruby Bergeron Breaux, and sister, Sylvia Breaux T

He was a retired production supervisor for Texaco of 40 years. 
He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Knights of Columbus.

He was the fiance of Sylvia LeBoeuf of Chauvin; father of Sergeant J. Breaux Jr., Janice Lockwood of Gray, Melissa Leonard and Amanda Breaux of Houma; and brother of Edgar "EJ" and Thomas Breaux and Shirley Boudreaux, all of Gray, Ernest "Chumpy" Breaux and Theresa Newman of Houma. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Boudreaux Breaux, and parents, Edgar Sr. and Marie Boudreaux Breaux.

Evela Bruce

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II.

He served as director of District 3 of SLECA since 1983 where he also held president and treasurer positions. He was currently serving as vice president of the TESI Division of SLECA. 
He served on the ALEC board and was a member of the legislative committee and SLECA budget committee. He was currently serving as president of the ALEC board and previously served as secretary/treasurer. 
He was retired from McDermott and J.C. Daigle Contractors Cleveland and was currently serving on the Lafourche Parish Planning Commission. 
He was an elder serving on session of the First Presbyterian Church of Bayou Blue. 
He previously held the office of president and second vice president of the Bayou Blue Senior Citizens, was the past master of Unity of Lodge No. 267, treasurer and past master of the Terrebonne Fellowship Lodge No. 481 Masons and past president of the Houma Chapter of the 
United Ostomy Associaton.

Stanwood Duval Sr.

service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Houma for Stanwood Richardson Duval Sr., 87, a native and resident of Houma, who died at 8:40 p.m. June 2, 2001. 
Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. today at the church. 
Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Houma. 
He was the husband of Bonnie Parker Faught Duval of Houma; father of C. Berwick Duval II and Charlene D. Barker of Houma and Judge Stanwood R. Duval Jr. of New Orleans; and grandfather of Anne-Gwin Duval Poirier, Charles Duval Moore, David Hunter Duval, William Timmons Moore, John Duval Moore, David Duval Moore, Stanwood Robert Duval and Claiborne Berwick Duval. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanwood and Mamie Richardson Duval. 
He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and a retired major in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. While in the Marines, he participated in the battles of Roi-Namur, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. He received four battle stars and three presidential citations for his actions in the Pacific. 
He was retired president of Duval-Whitney-Stevenson Inc. Insurance Agency and was a member of the Independent Agents of Terrebonne and a past president of that organization. He also served for two years on the state executive committee of the Louisiana Association of Insurance Agents. 
He was also a member of the
 Terrebonne Parish LSU Alumni Association and a past president of that organization, as well as a member and past president
 of the Whiskey Pass Silver King Rodeo Association and the Terrebonne Sportsman League. 
His civic activities include serving on the Terrebonne Parish Parks and Recreation Board for 17 years and five years as its president. 
He also served for many years on the Terrebonne Parish Jury Commission and the 
Houma-Terrebonne Regional Planning Commission. On Jan. 19, 1977, he was awarded the Houma Daily Courier Most Useful Citizen's Award. 
He was a member of the Houma Rotary Club and a past president. He was also a member of the Lennox Hotard Post of the American Legion and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign War. 
He was also a member of the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, serving on its board of directors and was chairman of its tourist agency committee, and was responsible for establishing the tourist information center for Terrebonne Parish. 
He was a parishioner of St. Mathew's Episcopal Church and served several years on its vestry. 
Donations to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church are preferred.

She was a former member of the Houma Lions Club. 
She was a former employee of Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office.

She was a retired teacher and welfare worker, a member of the Daughters of the American 
Revolution and the Catholic Daughters. She also was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, where she received many awards and citations for her work rendered.

In 1999, she was honored by the New Orleans District Nurses Association as one of the 100 great nurses.
