Rose, died April 25, 2003.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict the Moore 
Catholic Church in Napoleonville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 
11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at First Israel Baptist Church 
Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda H. Burd of Belle Rose; sons, Ernest J. of 
Belle Rose and Roy Harris of Compton, Calif.; sisters, Agnes Herbert and Verdie 
Mae Harris of New Orleans, Margaret Coleman of Denver, Colo. and Marynell 
Darensbourg of Napoleonville; brothers, Joseph and James Harris of New Orleans; 
14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Harris; parents, Joseph Sr. and 
Rose Harris; son, Kentrell Harris; sister, Hilda Hall; and a grandson.

Godfrey Moten Jr., 54, a native of Zachary and resident of Raceland, died at 1:28 
a.m. April 29, 2003.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland, 
and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland. The 
religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at 
Greater New Fountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Lockport.

He is survived by his wife, Evelina Moten of Raceland; mother, Aline Moten of 
Zachary; son, Godfrey Moten III of Raceland; stepsons, Ronald Lee and Terry Lee 
Wheaton of Raceland; daughter, Ulondas Moten of Raceland; stepdaughter, Tarolyn 
Gray of Raceland; brothers, Alfred Moten of Texas, Charles, Larry, and Melvin 
Moten of Raceland, David, Earl, Bobby, and Robert Moten of Baton Rouge, and 
Russell Moten of Gulfport, Miss.; sisters, Earline, Janice, Denise, Joyce, Shelia,

Fernand "Frenchy" Joseph Chiasson, 74, a native of Thibodaux and resident of 
Norco, died April 30, 2003.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church in 
Marrero.

He is survived by his sister, Marie Chiasson Panvelle; wife, Yvonne Pierce 
Chiasson; sons, Larry Sr., Carroll, Timmy and Ernest Chiasson; daughters, Joyce 
and Dorothy Chiasson, Nancy Chiasson Collins and Mary Chiasson Stelly; 
stepdaughters, Clara Kay Duckett, Linda Pierce, Peggy Reitz, Eva Roberts and 
Mary Stell; stepsons, Gene, John, Phillip and Gary Pierce; 25 grandchildren, 23 
step-grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anicet "Ernest" Chiasson; mother, Olivia 
Adams Chiasson; sisters, Cedelia Chiasson, Louise Chiasson Clement, Laura 
Chiasson LeBlanc, Agnes "Theresa" Chiasson Gauthe and sons, Benjamin and Tommy 
Chiasson.

She is survived by her father, Giles Proctor King; son, Joseph Aaron Nickoson; 
brothers, Rick King of Fenwick, W.Va., and Mike Midkiff of Newark, Ohio; and one 
grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Delia Eunice Waugh; and daughter, Angela 
Nickoson.

Claude and Leo Pitre; sisters, Irene P. St. Pierre and Rita P. Blanchard; five

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ecland Sr. and Florida Angelette

Logan Michael Guidry, 2, a native and resident of Larose, died at 1:05 p.m. 
Friday, May 2, 2003.

from noon to funeral time Tuesday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in 
Larose. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the

He is survived by his parents, Sancey Guidry and Clayton Duncan; and his 
grandparents, Eddie and Mollie Guidry and Claude Duncan and Claire McGouan.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jaquana Andrea Rouselle.

Bernice M. Hebert, 78, a native of Stephens County, Okla., and resident of Bayou 
Blue, died at 9:20 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003.

be at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

She is survived by two daughters Trina Cunningham and Tina Disotell; two 
sisters, Jackie Harwell and Betty Frazier; two grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hebert; her parents, James and 
Nettie McDaniel; two daughters, Linda Jean Hebert and Dinna Sue Stevens; one 
brother, Mac McDaniel; and four sisters, Joy Wallis, Ella Mae McDaniel, Zalie 
McDaniel and Marie Sconyers.

4:20 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003.

Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport, 
with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Frank LeBouef; two daughters, Shirley Plaisance and 
Mary Jane Benoit; one brother, Sidney Matherne; one sister, Evelyn Theriot; 
eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julien J. LeBouef: her parents, Felix 
Matherne Sr. and Adele Hebert Matherne; one daughter, Mary Ann LeBouef; three

Louis "Red" Pitre, 70, a native of Galliano and resident of Cut Off, died at 6:40 
p.m. May 2, 2003.

memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. He will be 
cremated.

He is survived by his wife, Delores "Dee" Martinez Pitre; daughters, Carlotta 
Toups, Sheryl Harrison and Stephanie Ryman; brothers, Paul "Pavie" Victor Pitre 
and Wilkie David Pitre; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

in Houma.

She is survived by her sons, Francis P. Bonvillain of Katy, Texas and Michael 
P. Bonvillain of Houma; daughter, Mary B. Lirette of Houma; brothers, Herbert, 
Eddie and Newton Hill of Albany; sisters, Audrey Mae Brady and Hazel Sanders, 
both of Albany; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis O. Bonvillain; parents, Scott 
John and Ella Palmer Hill; brothers, Raymond, J.W. and Wilton Hill; and 
sisters, Maxim Morrison, Ruby Purvis, Geraldine Hiil and an infant sister.

She was a retired substitute teacher for Terrebonne Parish Schools and a member 
of the AARP.

She was a parishioner of First United Methodist Church.

Donations to First United Methodist Church are preferred.

David "Ziggy" Allen Duet, 42, a native of Napoleonville and resident of 
Thibodaux, died at 2:30 p.m. May 31, 2003.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 
Thibodaux Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 
a.m. Friday at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Thibodaux, with burial at 
Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.

He is survived by his father, Lawrence Duet Jr.; stepmother, Hazel Allemand 
Duet; son, Jayson A. Duet; daughter, Jennifer Rae Duet; brothers, Terry, Billy 
and Corey Duet; half sisters, Kristen Cedotal Andras and Jolene Cedotal 
Boudreaux; stepsister, Donna Allemand; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Mae Cortez Duet Cedotal.

Lucille Gros

Lucille Badeaux Gros, 92, a native of Larose and resident of Cut Off, died at 
5:10 p.m. May 31, 2003.

Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in 
Larose. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the 
church, with burial at the church cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Tilman Gros Sr. and wife, Bea and Herbert Gros Sr. 
and wife, Sydney, daughter, Anna Belle Gros Galliano; brother, Belton Badeaux; 
13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Gros; parents, Ignace and Anie 
"Mam" Boudreaux Badeaux; son, Irvin Gros Sr.; daughter, Lois Gros Vedros; 
brothers, Norbert, Ivy and Sidney Badeaux; sisters, Ida and Lucy Badeaux; and 
grandchildren, Rickey Arceneaux, Michael, Randall, James and Irvin Gros Jr.

Alfreda Eve Billiot Jones, 42, a native of Houma and resident of Lucedale, 
Miss., died at 4:15 p.m. May 31, 2003.

Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at 
the Montegut fire station. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 
p.m. Tuesday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Pointe-aux-chenes with burial at 
Holy Family Cemetery in Dulac.

She is survived by her parents, Wenceslaus Sr. and Denecia Naquin Billiot; 
brother, Wenceslaus Sr. and wife Sheila, Robert Sr. and Wife Helen and Adam 
Billiot Sr. and wife, Lottie; sisters, Judyann and Theresa Billiot and Mrs. 
Mitchell (Kathy) Dardar; 14 nephews, six nieces, 12 great-nephews, eight great-
nieces and five godchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sylvester and Alfreda Naquin 
Billiot and Adam and Valorine Bourg Naquin; nephew, Wenceslaus Billiot; great-
nieces, Summer Bruce and Jasmine Dardar; great-nephew, Jordan Bruce; uncles, 
Gustave, Simon, Gabriel and Bernard Naquin and Alex Billiot Sr.; and aunt, 
Venecia Billiot Naauin.
