A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Legendre Uzee; son, Bob A. Uzee; daughter-in-law, Laurice Harrington Uzee; sister, Mary Uzee Foret; brother, Dickey Uzee; and grandchildren, Matthew Joseph and Erin Marie Uzee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julien "Dick" Joseph and Marie Cecilia Foret Uzee. He was a retired executive dean of Delgado Junio College and retired executive assistant to J.B.N. Morris, an industrialist in oil-related enterprises. He graduated from Thibodaux College and received degrees from Isaac Delgado Central Trades School, Delgado Trades and Technical Institute and Louisiana State University. He received his doctorate in adult education from the University of Southern Mississippi. During the Korean War, he served as a French interpreter in the U.S. Army. He represented the U.S. Dept of Labor in 1962 and 1963 at the International Trade Fairs of Morocco and Guinea. He was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Parish, a member of the St Matthew Usher Society and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He played an important role in a number of service organizations, including Phi Delta Kappa at USM and the American Legion Post 349. He served as past president of Carrollton Rotary Club of New Orleans and was a member of Rotary for 23 years, a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow with a Sapphire award. He was also on the advisory board of Sclafani Cooking School. ============================================================================
