Betty Trahan Lirette, 64, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 7:35 a.m. 
Aug. 3, 2004.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Samart Funeral Home. A memorial 
service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with cremation to 
follow.

She is survived by her sons, Elgin Jr., Richard and Michael Lirette; daughters, 
Sharon Cheramie, Elizabeth "Liz" Jordon and Norma Lirette; sister, Brunella 
Hutchinson; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elgin "Bu-bute" Lirette Sr.; parents, 
Avison and Delta Thibodeaux Trahan; daughter, Melissa Lirette; and sister, 
Thelma Trahan.

Donations to the family for funeral expenses are preferred.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
