Mire, 81, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died Dec. 16, 2004, at Maison de Lafayette Nursing Home in Lafayette. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Thibodaux. She is survived by her brother, Cecil Mire; and sister, Jackie Mire Dominique. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvire Clement Mire and Joseph Mire; and sisters, Ethel Mire Bullock, Claudette Mire Crochet and Lorraine Mire Miller. She taught third grade at L.T. Elementary School for 30 years. After her retirement, she continued her employment at Lee's School Supplies Store. She spent many of the following years as a lvoing and devoted caregiver to her ailing mother. She loved taking and collecting pictures of the family. She was a keeper of records for the family, which was passed on by her aunt, Bridget Mire. She had a passion for creating beautiful carrds and corresponded often with family, friends and several authors. Her greatest passion was the love of her Catholic faith and family.
