Early Matherne

Early J. Matherne, 84, a native of Lockport and resident of Cut Off, died Dec. 
12, 2004.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut 
Off. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the 
church, with burial at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Bychurch Matherne; sons, Ernest, Edward and 
David Matherne; daughters, Claudette Hebert and Louella Doucet; sisters, Winnie 
Toups, Anna Mae Boquet and Thelma Guidry; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurthur and Orelia Dufrene Matherne; 
granddaughter, Angela Doucet; brothers, Edward, Norris, Nolan, Stanley, Gilbert, 
Morris, Harris, Colbert, Roland and Roy Matherne.

He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Samart Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
