Oliver Jones Jr.

Oliver Hobson Jones Jr., 80, a native of Orange, Texas, and resident of 
Beaumont, Texas, died Dec. 24, 2004.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Broussard's Mortuary in 
Beaumont. He will be cremated.

He is survived by his wife, Lupe Jones of Beaumont; son, Patrick James Jones of 
Beaumont; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia J. and Rock Anthony Puryear of 
Lafayette, Sharon J. and Mickey Bouffani of Biloxi, Miss. and Calli Usei of 
Santa Clarita, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, William R. and Libby Jones of 
Baton Rouge; sister, Alice Ann Gay of Houston; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Hobson Jones Sr. and Lillian Eve 
Callahan Jones; and brother, Garland Jones.

He was retired from the oil industry, where he was a drilling superintendent and 
consultant. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the 
Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Vidor, Texas and enjoyed playing 
golf, fishing and hunting.

Memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, PO Box 5144, Beaumont, Texas 
77726-5144 or Shriners Burns Hospital, 815 Market St., Galveston, Texas 77550 
are preferred.
