Marcel Sr., 65, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, died at 11:14 p.m. Dec. 18, 2004. Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. today and 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the KC Hall in Chauvin. A religious service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the hall, with burial at Rogers Cemetery in Houma. He is survived by his sons, Randy and Ray Marcel Jr.; daughters, Sandra White and Tammy Dupre; brother, Elmer Marcel Sr.; sisters, Malberine Bergeron, Shirley Blanchard, Betty Crochet and Jeraldine LeBoeuf; 16 grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mae Benoit Marcel; stepfather, Edward A. Poiencot; grandson, Brandon Ray Marcel; brothers, Aron, Eugene, Randsel Marcel and Arbrey Poiencot; sisters, Betty Jean Marcel, Orlean Guidry, Celena Rust and Vera Mae Dupre; and one grandchild. He was a former member of the KC Hall and the Little Caillou Volunteer Fire Department. His hobbies were trawling, making cast nets and crab cages. He was a tugboat captain.
