Redel Guidry Sr.

Redel "J.R." "Uncle Elroy" Guidry Sr., 62, a native and resident of Chauvin, 
died Dec. 5, 2004.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at The KC Hall in Chauvin. A Mass of 
Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 
with burial at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Viola Trahan Guidry Carrere; sons, Clark, Jeremie 
and Jacob Guidry; brothers, Larry and Harris Guidry, Vernon and Eric Carrere; 
and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Poiencot Guidry; father, Redel 
Guidry; stepfather, Stelay Carrere; sons, Dwayne Sr. and Redel Guidry Jr.; and 
brother, Errol Carrere.

He served in the U.S. National Guard. He enjoyed playing pool and being outdoors 
riding in his boat. He was a lifelong commercial fisherman.

Donations for funeral expenses are preferred.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
