The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ========================= July 31. 2004 12:15AM Julius Verret Jr. [Photo} Julius "T-Nook" Joseph Verret Jr., 77, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 2:15 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2004. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Masonic service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, and rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Eschete Verret of Houma; three sons, Kimple Verret and wife, Joanne, of Fresno, Calif., Earl Eschete Jr. and John Eschete and wife, Chris, of Houma; three daughters, Eleanor E. Lovell, Maida Verret and companion, Terry Trosclair, and Sydney E. Knight and husband, Rodney, of Houma; two brothers, Usie Verret and wife, Ediana, and Acklend Verret of Houma; two sisters, Brunella V. Guillot and husband, Russell, and Mary Halford of Houma; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Francis Verret; his parents, Julius Joseph Verret Sr. and Enolia Dean Verret; two sons, Julius Verret III and Ranier "Rene" Verret; one daughter, Dawn Ann Verret; one son-in-law, Joseph Lovell; one infant brother, Percy Verret; and one brother-in-law, Roy Halford. He was a retired welder with Delta Services and was a member of the Masonic Unity Lodge No. 267, United Veterans League, Eastern Star, Knights of Columbus Council No. 6170, V.F.W. Post No. 4752, Past Commander 2002-2004, 32nd degree Masonic Lodge, life member of the American Legion, Eastern Star, Scottish Rites, Jerusalem Temple and Houma Shriner's Club Houma Clown. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World World II. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
