Anderson, 87, a native of Woodville, Miss., and resident of Thibodaux, died at 3:58 p.m. July 25, 2004. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Magnolia United Methodist Church in Johnson Ridge. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Livas Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Livas Anderson; sons, Marvin Anderson Jr. and Louis Anderson; daughters, Marva A. Brannum, Mary Ann Wynn and Marvie Norfor; brothers, David and Rufus Anderson; sister, Bertha Taylor; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Henderson Anderson and Mary Myles Anderson; brothers, Willie, Smiley, Fate, Elzie and James Solomon; and sisters, Georgia, Amanda, Vernell, Martha and Lucille. He was a retired rigger from Avondale Shipyard and was on the Trustee Board/Treasurer of the Men's Auxiliary Club. He was a member of St. Joseph Lodge No. 15 and was a Mason He was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church. Community Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
