Smith, 66, a native of Gloster, Miss., and resident of Golden Meadow, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time today at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Larose. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Gavin Washington of Larose and Robbin Gavin of Oakland, Calif.; one stepbrother, Robert Smith of Donaldsonville; one stepsister, Idea Mae Smith of Donaldsonville; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Lucinda Cupil; and one son, Thomas James Gavin. She was Baptist and a retired worker of Thomassie Shrimp Company.
