Gerald Melancon					[Photo]

Gerald "Big G" John Melancon, 65, a native of Houma and resident of Schriever, 
died at 7:40 a.m. Oct. 29, 2004.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home Chapel 
in Thibodaux. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral 
home, with burial at St. Gertrude Catholic Cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Scott James Melancon; daughters, Annette Poindexter 
and Dawn Melancon; sister, Genevieve Matherne; seven grandchildren; and two 
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dora Thibodaux Melancon; and 
brother, Donald Melancon.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
