Folse Barbé, 91, a native of Raceland and lifelong resident of New Orleans, died at 10:55 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2004. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home in New Orleans. Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church on Elysian Fields, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Henry John Barbé Jr. and Donald E. Barbé; two daughters, Beverly B. Manzella and Patricia B. Kirschman; one son-in-law, Richard Kirschman; one daughter-in-law, Deborah Cox Barbé; three siblings, Jeanne Folse, Gladys Folse Bowman and Florence Folse Critelli; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clothilde Chauvin Folse and Luke Aidee "Eddie" Folse; six brothers, Harris, Fernand, Thompson, Eugene, Lawrence and Clarence Folse; and two sisters, Lillian Folse Himel and Bessie Folse Braud. She was a retired horticulturist at S.H. Kress.
