Paul Foret						[Photo]

Paul T. Foret, 83, a native of Raceland and resident of Thibodaux, died at 12:49 
a.m. Nov. 2, 2004.

Visitation will be 8:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Co-cathedral in 
Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at 
the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Amelia Gaudet Foret; son and daughter-
in-law, Michael J. and Mona Foret; daughters and son-in-law, Dr. Claire M. 
Foret, Faye F. and John Thompson; brother, Martin Foret; sisters, Una F. Foret 
and Idola F. Dufour; and grandchildren, Niki, Megan and Alexis Foret, Kimberly 
Thompson Byrd and John Thompson Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene F. and Eleanore Brown Foret; 
brothers, Tilman and David Foret; and sisters, Rita F. Champagne and Lydia F. 
Sciambra.

He was a lieutenant colonel and veteran in the U.S. Air Force, retired after 28 
years of service. He servied in World War II as a B-17 pilot in the 8th Air 
Force 490th Bomb Group. He was a aeronautical engineer, aircraft mantenance 
officer, Atlas missile commander and after his retirement was a VA officer for 
Lafourche Parish.

He was a member of the KCs, Woodmen of the World, American Legion Post 11, 40 
and 8 post, VFW, Krewe of Cleophas, 8th Air Force Historian Society, 490th Bomb 
Group, 556 Missile Squad, Reserve Officer Association and a member of St. Joseph 
Co-cathedral.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He will be dearly missed.
