A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. She is survived by her sons, Michael Hymel, Chuck Hymel and Brian Hymel; daughters, Mona Lisa Dutch and Gwendelyn Chiasson; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, O'Niel Joseph Hymel, parents, Alford Oncale and Pauline Wendt Oncale, son, Baby Joseph Hymel; brothers, Alfred Oncale Jr., Henry Oncale, Phillip Oncale and Louis Oncale; and sisters, Mary Lambry and Loretta Douglas. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW and a Eucharistic minister at St. Genevieve Catholic Church. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
