Gladys Becnel

Gladys Becnel, 82, a native of Vacherie and resident of Thibodaux, died Oct. 11, 
2004.

Visitation will be 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in 
Vacherie. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at 
the church, with burial at the church cemetery.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Ernest Bellanger Jr., Tony Bellanger, Jody 
Bellanger, Donna Hebert Dufrene, Duane Hebert, Stacy Hebert, Sandy Hebert 
Thibodeaux, Lindsay Zeringue, Ryan Zeringue and Jerilyn Tardo Benoit; daughters, 
Beverly Bellanger, Brenda Hebert, Sheila Zeringue and Debra Becnel; brothers, 
J.T. Oubre, Clamce Oubre and Roland Oubre; sisters, Mildred Landry and Shirley 
Simon; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine J. Becnel; parents, Therance 
Oubre and Clothilde Rome Oubre; grandson, Timothy Bellanger; brothers, Lawrence, 
Earnest and Calvin Oubre; and sisters, Delores Ockman and Celie Cheinier.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
