James "Jimmie" N. Reed, 75, a native and resident of Belle Rose, died Oct. 18, 
2004.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Israel Baptist Church in 
Belle Rose. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, 
with burial at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Oleavia C. Reed; sons and daughters-in-law, 
Nathaniel Reed, James Reed Jr. of Belle Rose, Charles and Cathy Reed of Trenton, 
N.J.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gertrude Powell, Emelda and Tommie Gooden, 
Bernice and Lawrence Wilson, Lucille and Walter McGee, all of New Orleans, 
Vivian Mitchell, Wilhemena and Wilbert Williams of Belle Rose; brother, Royal 
Reed of Marrero; devoted caregiver, Odette Nelson; son-in-law, Leroy Valentin; 
daughter-in-law, Brenda Reed; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 
other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lizzie and Arthur "Jack" Reed Sr.; 
daughter, Joyce D. Valentine; sister, Warnetta Cola; brothers, Clifton, Arthur, 
Lawrence and Joseph Reed.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of 
arrangements.
