James Rosamond Jr.					[Photo]

James "J.R." Rosamond Jr., 77, a native of Poplar Creek, Miss., and resident of Houma, died Oct. 24, 2004.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Samart 
Funeral Home in Houma. A religious service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at 
Samart Funeral Home, with cremation following.

He is survived by his sons, James Drew Rosamond of Lafayette, Colo. and Robert 
W. Dismuke of Greenville, Miss.; daughter, Sherry Rosamond of Boulder, Colo; 
brother, Ozell Rosamond of Birmingham, Ala.; sister, Maxine Pearson of Gray; 
five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James V. and Sherman L. Jennings 
Rosamond Sr.; son, Rickie Rosamond; an infant daughter; brothers, Carmon and 
Rueben Rosamond.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a great storyteller and jokester. He was loved by many.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
