Collins, 83, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, died at 7 a.m. Oct. 24, 2004. Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. today and 7 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. He is survived by his sons, Michael J. and Russell A. Collins; brother, Julius Collins; sisters, Velma Bouzigard and Bernice Collins; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Daigle Collins; parents, Jack and Emilia Griffin Collins; sisters, Earline Kerley, Pearline and Volena Terrebonne. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, V. F. W. and Masons and was a retired employee of Texaco with 27 years of service. Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of arrangements.
