Shem Gordon

Shem Aubrey Gordon, 82, a native of Oakdale and resident of Baton Rouge, died Oct. 18, 2004.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 
Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge. A religious service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday 
at the funeral home chapel.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lee Ethel Gordon of Baton Rouge; 
daughters and sons-in-law, Leah Suzette Wood and Dr. Danny Scott Wood and Ann 
Gordon Ruth and Dr. Michael Ruth, all of Baton Rouge; grandchildren and their 
spouses, Dr. Charles Gordon Wood and Brooke Wood of Philadelphia, Katherine Lee 
Wood of Baton Rouge, John Gordon Ruth and Ben Michael Ruth, both of Baton Rouge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and a sister.

He was a retired drilling superintendent for Exxon with 40 years of service.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, an avid LSU baseball fan, a member 
of the YMCA Heart and Fitness, a 32 degree Mason with the Valley of New Orleans 
Orient Masonic Lodge, an 11-year volunteer for Baton Rouge General Medical 
Center and an avid gardener.
