Scott Daniels, 56, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma died at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 3, 2004. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Living Word Church in Houma. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Living Word Church, with burial at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Vincent L. Daniels of Freehold, N.J.; son, Nathanial Triggs of Hawaii; daughter, Saundra D. Triggs of Houma; brothers, Clifton B. Jr. of Raceland, Richard A. of San Antonio, Willie M. of Houston, James T. and Victor of Thibodaux and Ellery Scott of Norwalk, Calif.; sisters, Rose Mary James, Marsha M. Scott of Thibodaux, Louise A. Scott of Henderson, Nev., and Sarah D. Scott of Norwalk; and grandchildren, Sierra S. Mebane of Houma, Jody K. Young of Thibodaux and Jessica Triggs of Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton Scott Sr. and Victoria Allen Scott; and brothers, Gilbert and Cornell Scott. She was the retired supervisor of special education for the Terrebonne Parish School Board. She graduated cum laude from Nicholls State University in 1979 with a bachelor of arts degree in special education and a minor in elementary education. She received a master's in education from Nicholls in 1985, majoring in learning disabled with a minor in psychology. She had plus-30 hours at Nicholls with an emphasis in administration, elementary grades. She worked with mentally retarded, learning disabled, mild and moderate students, grades kindergarten through 12. She was an assessment teacher, supervisor of student teaching, child-search coordinator and parish or city supervisor/director of special education. She was a member of Living Word Church.
